🚨 HELP US KEEP AUGUSTFEST AUGUSTFEST! 🚨

What started as an idea became a real community festival because of countless hours, sacrifices, and the support of so many amazing people.

Now, the AugustFest name is being challenged, and I’m asking our community to help me protect what we’ve worked so hard to build.

This fundraiser will help cover legal, trademark, filing, and related costs so we can continue moving AugustFest forward.

Every donation helps — even $5. And if you can’t donate, PLEASE SHARE! One share could reach someone who can help.

This isn’t just a name. It’s the vendors, businesses, musicians, families, volunteers, charities, and memories that make AugustFest what it is.

Let’s stand together and keep AugustFest where it belongs — with our community.

LET’S KEEP AUGUSTFEST AUGUSTFEST! ❤️

So update…. Someone did file a trademark application on the name AugustFest. So I do have to change it completely. It was just filled a couple days ago and is a pending application. I can no longer use AugustFest in my name according to the association that handles trademarks. And since I can not change the name for 60 days on Facebook I will be I guess making a new one with a new name for the event, once I have everything switched over I will be deleting this page. If it’s not one thing it’s always another.

It has come to our attention that the name AugustFest has had an application submitted to be trademarked, which means we are no longer able to use the name…. I have received a ceased and desist email (no official letter). So we will sadly have to change the name 😭

🎉 MEET THE AUGUSTFEST TEAM! 🎉

We’re no longer a one-person show!

AugustFest has grown, and we’re excited to have a team of people helping bring this event to life. What started as an idea and a lot of work behind the scenes has grown into a dedicated team working together to make AugustFest a successful community event.

🎪 Cheyenne Tuttle — Founder & Head Coordinator

As the founder of AugustFest, Cheyenne oversees the overall planning, direction, and vision of the festival. She coordinates the team, works with the city, organizes vendors and sponsors, coordinates attractions and entertainment, and helps ensure everything comes together for the event.

💰 Jeremy Hudson — Financial Coordinator

Jeremy oversees the financial side of AugustFest, including tracking the budget, managing expenses and payments, maintaining financial records, and communicating with local businesses to secure sponsorships.

📋 Coddie Weston & TJ Bacon — Assistant Event Coordinators

Coddie and TJ assist with the overall planning and coordination of AugustFest. They help communicate with vendors, volunteers, partners, and other team members while helping keep all of the moving pieces organized.

🛡️ Kevin Tuttle — Head of Security

Kevin oversees security and safety operations during the festival. He helps coordinate security personnel, assist with crowd management, address safety concerns, and help ensure AugustFest remains a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.

🎶 Nellie Burley-Trigg — Entertainment Coordinator

Nellie handles the entertainment side of AugustFest, including communicating with performers, organizing the entertainment schedule, coordinating performers’ needs, and helping keep the stages full of great entertainment throughout the weekend.

🚨 WE’RE STILL LOOKING TO GROW OUR TEAM!

We are currently seeking:

📣 Marketing Coordinator

Help with social media, advertising, promotional campaigns, flyers, community outreach, and getting AugustFest in front of as many people as possible.

⚙️ Event Operations Coordinator

Help with the behind-the-scenes operations of the festival, including setup and breakdown, logistics, schedules, vendor coordination, volunteers, and making sure everything runs smoothly during the event.

💵 HOW THE POSITIONS WORK

These are commission-based positions. Team members are not paid hourly or through a regular paycheck. Compensation is paid at the conclusion of the event and is based on the event’s available proceeds and the responsibilities of each position.

This is a great opportunity for someone who:

✨ Doesn’t need a full-time job but could use an extra boost of cash once a year
✨ Wants to earn additional income while helping the community
✨ Enjoys being involved in community events
✨ Has skills in marketing, organization, operations, finance, entertainment, or event planning
✨ Wants to help build something that continues to grow year after year

AugustFest is no longer a one-person operation — it’s a team effort! ❤️

We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who has stepped up to help bring this vision to life. We’re excited about what this team can accomplish and where AugustFest can go from here.

Interested in joining the team? Send us a message! 🎉

Vendor Warning for Event Coordinators

I want to address a situation involving Sydney McCord and Pamela McCord following our recent event.

As event coordinators, we understand that not every event will be perfect and we absolutely welcome legitimate feedback and concerns. We are always willing to listen, investigate issues, and take responsibility when something genuinely goes wrong.

However, we recently became aware of statements and information communicated by Sydney and Pamela McCord regarding our event that we believe were inaccurate and did not align with our event records or the information we have documented. Some of this information was also communicated to the City of St. Joseph.

We take concerns seriously, but we also believe there is a significant difference between providing legitimate feedback and communicating information that is inaccurate or unsupported.

Because of our experience, we will not be working with Sydney or Pamela McCord at future events.

I am sharing this not to encourage harassment, retaliation, or negativity toward either individual. Rather, I believe other event coordinators deserve the opportunity to make informed decisions when selecting vendors for their events.

If you are considering working with Sydney or Pamela McCord, I strongly encourage you to do your own due diligence, obtain references, keep all agreements and communications in writing, and independently verify any concerns or claims brought forward.

We have documentation regarding our event and the circumstances surrounding this situation, and we stand behind the information we have provided.

We will continue to welcome constructive criticism, support our vendors and community partners, and work hard to put on quality events. At the same time, professionalism, honesty, and respectful communication are standards we expect from everyone we work with.

🎸 Saturday Rock Nights — New Guideline

Our events are family-friendly, and we want everyone—kids, adults, and seniors—to come out, have fun, and enjoy themselves!

We will still have rock music throughout the day on Saturdays. However, beginning at 8:00 PM, we will transition into the harder rock portion of the night.

Because we have received feedback regarding some of the music at our previous events, we want to make the expectations clear moving forward. If you do not enjoy harder rock music, or if you do not want your children exposed to that type of music or content, we kindly ask that you plan to attend earlier in the day or leave before the 8:00 PM portion begins.

This allows us to keep our events family-friendly while also giving our older crowd and rock fans a time to enjoy the heavier side of the music. 🤘

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and look forward to continuing to provide events that have something for everyone! ❤️🎶

We have received several complaints and concerns that were brought to the City regarding AugustFest, and we feel it is important to address them publicly and accurately.

1. Trash & Cleanup
Trash was emptied several times throughout the event, and everything was bagged and properly handled. Parks & Recreation also informed us that the park looked great compared to other events that have taken place there. We made every effort to keep the grounds clean throughout the weekend.

2. Porta-Potties
We contacted the porta-potty company multiple times requesting that the units be serviced and emptied. Unfortunately, despite those calls, no one came out. We sincerely apologize for this issue. We will be using a different company for future events to ensure this does not happen again.

3. Claims Regarding Vulgar Language
There was no vulgar language used during any of the musical performances. One particular song that some people believed contained a vulgar message was actually written as a metaphor about life having a hold on someone. We are more than willing to have the artist come forward and explain the meaning behind the song. We are also willing to address the other performance that was confronted that evening.

4. Security & Vendor Property
The statement that our security was incompetent is simply not accurate. None of the vendors’ belongings were ransacked or intentionally disturbed.

The storm occurred overnight, after the event, and the weather caused some tents and tables to shift. That is very different from claiming that vendors’ property was ransacked or that security failed to do their job. Our security team was there to perform their assigned duties during the event, and we stand behind them.

We absolutely welcome legitimate feedback. We understand that no event is perfect, and if there are areas where we can improve, we are willing to listen and make those improvements.

However, there is a difference between providing valid feedback and making statements that are factually untrue. We will not allow false statements or misinformation about AugustFest, our vendors, our staff, or our security team to go unaddressed.

We put an incredible amount of time, effort, and personal work into bringing this event to our community and supporting a great cause. We are proud of what we accomplished, while also acknowledging the things that can be improved moving forward.

We appreciate everyone who attended, supported our vendors and performers, volunteered, sponsored, and helped make AugustFest possible. ❤️
