May 2024 vs. May 2026. 🎓✨

Let’s just say… in 2024, the tassels werent tasseling, and the caps in general look like they’d already had their celebratory air toss. 🎓

But these cookies will always be special to me because they were the very first decorated cookies I ever made for the bakery.

When this customer asked me for decorated cookies, I actually told her, “Oh no, I do NOT do decorated cookies.” 😂 She politely asked if I would just give them a try since she was already ordering the other treats from me… so I did.

It’s easy to look back and pick apart every little thing I would do differently now. But I’m also really proud of how far I’ve come simply by teaching myself, practicing over and over, and refusing to give up.

So thank you to the customers who trusted me before I fully trusted myself (I’m looking at you, Jennifer Denny-Cate !) Every order has given me another opportunity to learn, practice and keep getting better.🤍

I’ve had quite a few new faces here lately, so I figured it was time to introduce the people behind Peaches & Dreams Bakery. 🧡

Hi, I’m Jen! 👋🏻 I’m the baker, decorator and creative brain behind most of what you see here. And this is my family: Robert, Hayden and Robbie. 🤍 They’re the reason behind so much of what I do (and the people who live amongst the chaos!) 😬

Peaches & Dreams is actually my side gig! By day, I’m a manager at a marketing agency. I’ve been in marketing my entire adult life, so this lets me combine my love of creating with convincing you that you need cookies (and you do!) 😉

My bakery story starts in 2023. I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and had major surgery. During recovery, I suffered a pulmonary embolism that led to organ failure, followed by months of chemotherapy. During treatment, I started baking more as a creative outlet and something positive to focus on.

After treatment and going into remission, I kept baking, learning and eventually started taking orders. I never planned to own a bakery, but something that helped carry me through one of the hardest seasons of my life grew into something I genuinely love. 💕

And while I’m usually behind the posts, this business does not run on me alone. Robert makes our dough and bakes our “famous” sugar cookies so many of you say are the best you’ve ever had. He handles packaging, inventory, supply runs, taste testing 😂 and an unfair amount of cleaning. I make things pretty… but I also make things messy.

Because this business grew from a difficult chapter in our lives, I wanted it to be about more than cookies. 🤍 My Sprinkles of Love Project lets me use my baking to bring a little sweetness to people going through hard times, which makes it especially close to my heart.

Stay tuned, because I’m about to get vulnerable in the coming days and show you some of my VERY early cookies. 😬 Growth is real… and apparently so is bravery, because I can’t believe I’m putting those cookies back on the internet!

Before the Gator fans come for me… 😂🐊 the assignment was MUTED Gators colors. Dusty light blue + soft coral for a sweeter take on the classic UF palette, and I am very much here for it. 🎓🧡
