Our name, The Lazy Heart, stems from my grandfathers cattle brand. "Grandy" had an old forged steel branding iron in the shape of a heart that he branded his cattle with. When my parents started in the cattle business they used the same heart shaped brand but turned the brand upside down to distinguish their cattle from grand

dads. When my brother and I started in the cattle business we used the same brand but turned the branding iron on its side so that the point of the heart pointed to the head of the cow for my brothers and pointed toward the tail of the cow for my cattle. The Lazy Heart brand. The restaurant, The Lazy Heart Grill, is the result of Debby's outstanding ability and love of cooking special dishes and seeing peoples reaction to her creations. She became well known for catering weddings, anniversaries, and large parties of all kinds. After she did a wedding for over 300 guests out of her little kitchen at home she decided that she needed a bigger kitchen............... so we spent the next three years building The Lazy Heart Grill. Debby got her kitchen and the small town of Saint Jo got an upscale, full service, dine in restaurant, just like the big city. The two old buildings that house The Grill were built around the late 1870's, so they are about 130 years old. The walls are large rocks that were brought in by horse and wagon. We had to remove the old flooring as much of it was in poor condition but we saved a good bit of the old wood and used it in the renovation which adds to the western atmosphere. We are fortunate to be located on the "square" and just next door to the original Stonewall Saloon which is now a museum showcasing the rich history of Saint Jo and the surrounding area. So, as most of you know by now, we sold The Lazy Heart a while back. Last Mother's Day was our last day to serve customers. It was a long and difficult decision but Debby and I are doing fine.

I could not take this page down because of all of great comments. We always appreciated all of our customers and leaving you all was the hardest part of our decision. Thank you all for your patronage for those 12 1/2 years. Hope to see you all again soon.

HUGE INSIDE SALE ! ! !

First let me reassure everyone that we are NOT selling the restaurant furniture or equipment ! ! ! All of this is our own private stuff collected over about the last 25 years. The restaurant IS planned to re-open in the next few months, so we are taking advantage of the "down time".

Lots of very nice furniture including marble top dressers & tables, very ornate display shelving, cabinets and small tables, lots of glass ware, some sets, kitchen ware, antiques of all kinds, collectible items, lots of various old chairs, to MUCH to mention.

OPEN Friday and Saturday from 10.00 to 4.00 and Sunday from 10.00 to 2.00.

NO EARLY BIRDS PLEASE and PLEASE, NOT UNATTENDED CHILDREN....... way too many fragile items.

So we delivered the Donation Jug to Emily and her family the other day...... don't know how much was in there and they didn't count it while we were there but they both wanted me to be sure to express that they are "VERY GRATEFUL" not only for the financial support but for everyone's prayers and concern. She can't believe how many of us think so much of them. We could see that they were overwhelmed....... Which is what we wanted to see...... So, a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who donated.... She will be out of work for at least another month so we need to continue to do this for them...

As for Emily, she looks great, says she is getting better every day but it will be a while for her to heal.

So, more prayers and more donations please.....
