Officially closed for Summer 2026.

It’s been a good ride and we are grateful for the volunteers and community support. This shop would not be possible without the amazing students that show up and volunteer their time weekly. I am proud of our young people and you should be as well!

Hope to see you in August when school is back in session!

(July 10-11 we will be working the annual Take-A-Stand Against Child Abuse. Watch for us and help us sell a lot of lemonade for a good cause.)

Enrica, Jonathon, Roger, and Alberto are traveling Route 66 and stopped by to enjoy a latte with us. They call home Spain! Always a pleasure to have special guests!

A sense of community can be found via a cup of coffee.

I spent time recently at Firehouse Coffee Shop in St. James, which is run by high school students — and Terrill Story, the high school art teacher and youth minister, who has spent most school-day afternoons for about 15 years at the shop. He doesn't really make money from the role, nor do the students. Instead, the profit the shop makes goes back to help local causes.

It's a win-win-win: A win for those causes, a win for the students (who gain experience for their resume and with philanthropy), a win for utilizing a former firehouse, and a win for the community, which has a place to gather.

To read an article about the shop, visit the link in the comments. Thanks to Weave: The Social Fabric Project for funding its creation.

And thats a wrap on our 2026 art show!

This year we added some interactive activities for everyone to enjoy (as pictured, sculpting and group painting) and really appreciate everyone who decided to participate and tap into their artistic persona, we hope you had fun! And of course, thank you to the volunteers who helped everything run smoothly, you know we could not do this without you! Seeing all the support from the community is truly heartwarming and we are so happy people continue to come out each year to see the students hard work, it means the world to not just us but them too.

Enjoy these photos from the event while I already start thinking about next year’s show.
