ISLAND GRINDS serves Authentic Polynesian Foods & offers Catering Services for all occasions and sizes. New Beginnings Academy was organized in 2006 to help at-risk youths, homeless and runaway teens, organize different youth sports programs, and preserving cultures within our community through music, dance and nutrition for life and growth. PURPOSE

ring) as our "on the job training" program for at-risk youths and or young adults interested in pursuing careers in the food industry, and to preserve the foods and different dishes of the Polynesian culture by preparing, cooking and sharing it with the community. Youths and/or young adults that are selected by our panel of directors will need certain requirements and certifications in order for them to start their journey. They will then learn the basics of restaurant operations and also an opportunity to learn Polynesian cultural cooking. ISLAND GRINDS will open 5 days a week from Monday - Friday with 1 day of the week set aside to show case some of the dishes prepared by our future chefs under close supervision by our managers on shift. On this day we will serve the less fortunate and the wonderful people of our community. Monetary donations are encouraged, to help further the program and better serve the less fortunate and our community. FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITIES
Saturdays will be used for fundraising opportunities for youths in our community that are involved in sports or any educational clubs, but can't afford dues or fees. These individuals will be given a certain amount of tickets to sell to their families and friends. Families and friends will then pick up their food orders on Saturday at the restaurant. Island Grinds will deduct food costs from ticket price and write a check of remaining balance to the student’s school or club. We feel that there are a lot of students in our community that have desires to participate in sports and/or clubs but can't afford dues and fees. By providing our youngsters with this opportunity, it will allow them to work for their own fees as well as learning responsibility and accountability, especially giving their parents a peace of mind of not paying for another fee out of their own pockets.
