It's spring season and By Design Catering has a few opportunities for the perfect people.

By Design Catering has a few events and weddings through the season. Our staff operates as "contract workers" on a gig by gig basis.

Experience is preferred. This is a physical job. Applicants must be able to carry trays with dinner plates, can lift and carry up to 30 #, think on your feet, be a team player, a plus if cross trained for BOH work.

By Design is also looking for a few people to do weekly gig work. Again, experience is a must.
Most notable- We have a few morning jobs that are from 7am-10am. The perfect candidate is a morning person who likes a powerful start to their day.

Our sister company, BDC Meals, is looking for a driver on Sundays. That position starts between 1:30 and 2:30pm and last an average of 4hrs. This position requires a clean driving record, non smoking car, a reliable and presentable vehicle with lots of room on the inside for coolers bags.

JOIN US! COA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: You can make a difference! Volunteers just like you share kindness and touch lives here at COA. Here are our current volunteer needs:

Care Connection (Administrative) –A volunteer Office Assistant is needed on Mondays from 9am to noon at 180 Marine Street in downtown St. Augustine. Individual must be comfortable answering phones as well as interacting with clients in person. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel/Google sheets is helpful. May need to lift heavy objects such as pet food but this is not essential.

IMEP (Anastasia Baptist Church)–Our Memory Center at ABC is in need of volunteers on both Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Tuesday is from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, Wednesday is from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Sunshine Center (Art) –Volunteer simple art project leader needed (about a 3rd grade level, but geared for adults with special needs) in our Adult Day Program on Mondays from 1:15 to 2:15. We have a large inventory of supplies to be used.

Sunshine Center (Assistant)–Volunteer needed at our Sunshine Center in Downtown St. Augustine. Duties include assisting staff with activities, serving lunches, cleaning up, and assisting a legally blind person with feeding and some activity interactions. This opportunity is available on Mondays & Fridays 11am-4pm. This is a great way to show dignity and respect to our seniors.

Cutters and Clippers—Our Care Connection program is looking for interested volunteers to assist in basic lawn care and maintenance on Thursdays 8am-12pm. This kind of service helps local seniors remain in their own homes where they are most comfortable, rather than being compelled to enter assisted living for lack of assistance.

Sign Language Interpreter – We are looking for a Volunteer to help our Deaf Participants at the River House and occasionally at the Coastal Community Center. Help is needed mostly in the mornings but could be afternoons as well. We believe that this serve will likely be 2-3 times per month for 1-2 hours. If you have the time, you can put your very special skills to work and help others.

Ramp Building Crew – We are looking for Volunteers to help with building wheelchair ramps this Fall. If you would like to assist in this worthwhile endeavor, you are encouraged to contact COA to find out more.

By Design Catering has new windows and marque!! After a decade Marshall O. Peters and I wanted a new look for our windows on Anastasia Blvd. Dee with SmartBiz Signs suggested these beauties! He was totally right. So much better than your typical vinyl lettering. Give these windows some love! Honk at us as you go by!

History is Being Made! 🎉🚀

St. Johns County hosted a historic celebration on Sept. 18 to mark the State of Florida’s $1 million appropriation for the planning and design of the Florida Black History Museum in West Augustine.
