Saginaw County Fair Returns Aug. 4–8 with Rides, Livestock Shows and Nightly Grandstand Events

The Saginaw County Fair returns August 4–8, bringing five days of carnival rides, livestock exhibitions, grandstand entertainment and family traditions back to the Saginaw County Fairgrounds.

For more than a century, the fair has been one of Mid-Michigan's premier summer events, drawing thousands of visitors from Saginaw and surrounding communities. Whether it's watching young exhibitors show livestock, enjoying midway rides, sampling fair food or attending one of the nightly grandstand events, the fair offers something for every generation.

Daily admission includes parking, entry to the fairgrounds, unlimited carnival rides beginning at 2 p.m. and admission to each evening's grandstand event.

Agriculture Remains at the Heart of the Fair
While the midway often attracts the biggest crowds, agriculture continues to be the foundation of the Saginaw County Fair.

Throughout the week, local 4-H and FFA members will exhibit cattle, sheep, goats, swine, poultry and other livestock they have spent months raising and preparing. Visitors can tour the barns, meet exhibitors and learn about the importance of agriculture throughout Saginaw County and Mid-Michigan.

For many families, these competitions represent months of dedication and hard work, making the livestock shows one of the fair's proudest traditions.

Nightly Grandstand Entertainment
Admission includes each night's featured grandstand event, giving visitors the opportunity to enjoy a full day at the fair before settling in for evening entertainment.

The schedule includes:

Tuesday, Aug. 4 – 7 p.m.
MidMichigan Old Gas and Tractor Association Tractor Pull
Wednesday, Aug. 5 – 7 p.m.
West Michigan Pullers Modified Truck and Tractor Pull
Thursday, Aug. 6 – 7:30 p.m.
TNT Demolition Derby
Friday, Aug. 7 – 7 p.m.
SJO Motocross
Saturday, Aug. 8 – 7 p.m.
Lost Nations Rodeo
From roaring engines and flying dirt to rodeo action under the lights, each evening offers a different experience included with daily admission.

Admission Information
Visitors have two admission options each day.

A $25 daily admission includes:

Parking
Fair admission
Unlimited carnival rides beginning at 2 p.m.
Admission to the evening grandstand event
Visitors arriving between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. may purchase admission for $12, which includes entry to the fairgrounds but does not include rides.

Children measuring 32 inches and under receive free admission. Children between 32 and 36 inches may enter free but may need individual ride tickets for certain attractions. Riders must generally be at least 36 inches tall to enjoy all amusement rides.

On Tuesday, Aug. 4, veterans and active-duty military personnel receive free admission with valid military identification, including unlimited rides.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, families can enjoy Children's Day, featuring children's activities from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Midway Favorites
The midway opens each afternoon with rides, games and classic county fair food.

Visitors can expect favorites including elephant ears, fresh lemonade, corn dogs, barbecue, roasted corn, ice cream and dozens of other treats while enjoying carnival rides and games throughout the evening.

Many families spend an entire day exploring the fairgrounds before ending their visit with one of the grandstand events.

Planning Ahead Can Make the Day More Enjoyable
The Saginaw County Fairgrounds cover a large area, and many visitors spend six to eight hours walking between the livestock barns, exhibit buildings, midway, food vendors and grandstand.

Because much of the fair takes place on sidewalks, gravel lanes and grassy areas, comfortable shoes, sunscreen and water are recommended during August weather.

Visitors who have difficulty walking long distances may also want to plan ahead before arriving.

Buckfort Medical Equipment offers wheelchair and mobility scooter rentals with free delivery and pickup, making it easier for visitors to enjoy everything the fair has to offer without worrying about fatigue or transporting mobility equipment. Having a scooter available can allow someone to comfortably explore the livestock barns, enjoy the midway, visit food vendors and stay for the evening grandstand show.

A Mid-Michigan Tradition
The Saginaw County Fair continues to be one of the region's favorite summer traditions because it brings together agriculture, entertainment and community in one place.

Some visitors come for the livestock competitions. Others make a beeline for the midway, demolition derby or rodeo. Many simply enjoy spending a summer day with family and friends while making memories that return year after year.

With five days of attractions, unlimited rides included with daily admission and a different grandstand event every evening, the 2026 Saginaw County Fair promises another memorable week for Mid-Michigan families.

Go Mid Michigan Tip

Planning to spend the entire day at the fair? The Saginaw County Fairgrounds are expansive, and visitors often log several miles of walking between the barns, midway and grandstand. If you or someone in your group needs extra mobility, Buckfort Medical Equipment offers wheelchair and mobility scooter rentals with free delivery and pickup, helping visitors enjoy the fair from opening day through the final rodeo.
