We don’t typically address reviews publicly, but it’s 2026, and we’re going to say it for all the small business owners who are afraid to!
This needs to stop.
There’s a growing trend where people walk into small businesses, try to order things that are not on the menu, push for special treatment, and the second they don’t get their way… they run to Google or Facebook to drop a one-star review. And the staff is automatically “rude” because of it….
That’s not how this works.
In this case, a customer tried to order something we simply don’t offer. It’s not on the menu. We explained that. The order then got canceled, restarted, and turned into multiple requests for extra cups — which believe it or not, yes, cost money… because everything costs money.
I went to a local pizza shop yesterday and got charged $2 for a side of ranch. TWO?!? Did I run to Facebook and bash the pizza shop? No. I paid for it because I asked for it, and I enjoyed it because it was homemade.
We reviewed the interaction, and our staff handled this patiently and professionally. A young adult who can handle not only a register, but also a grown adult upset because she didn't get her way, and 7 little kids running around the store screaming is actually quite impressive. (They’re kids, we understand they have a lot of energy!) But this is still a public environment, and there were other people in the store who later voiced their opinion about being inconvenienced by this.
And then a one-star review gets left. Mind you, the customer had Google up on their phone before they even paid….
Not because of bad service.
Not because of attitude.
But because a business didn’t bend its menu and pricing on demand..
We don’t punish our team for following the rules they were trained on.
We stand behind our staff. 100%.
These kids show up, work hard, and represent this community the right way. And situations like this are exactly why small businesses struggle — not because of lack of effort, but because of unrealistic expectations.
We’re here to serve our community, but respect goes both ways around here.
