Permanently closed.

Well, if you are looking for a true "meat-and-potatoes" restaurant to enjoy the night out with your family or watching the game with your buddies, look no further than Trail's Restaurant in Sacramento! We are the last true char-broiler restaurant in town, which means we make BBQ food the way it is meant to be...fresh, juicy, meat-off-the-bone goodness. We feature our famous BBQ Pork Ribs (slow-coo

ked over 24 hours for the perfect tenderness and juice), BBQ 1/2 chicken, Shish-k-bobs (easy on the veggies), fried chicken wings, and NY Steak the way you want it. Also, Trail's is known for its special house BBQ sauce on pork ribs, homemade to perfection. It perfectly blends the spice of western style BBQ with the sweet tang of eastern flavor. Trust us, you have never tasted a BBQ sauce like this before...our sauce was even recognized as one of Sactown's Top 10 BBQ sauces! Awesome sauce is awesome. Couple that with a cold brew or milkshake, NFL Football on the flatscreen, and you have a place to be with your buddies or family! Our staff is friendly and our restaurant is suited for everyone, so come on down! Meet the big man himself, Gin, who will be tending to your experience and food. You might want to speak up a little louder with him, though, because all those awesome years of BBQ'ing the best meat in Sac isn't easy! Most Popular Menu Items:

BBQ Ribs (no baby backs here, this is the real deal) - $14.45
BBQ Chicken - $11.95
Shish-K-Bobs (minimal veggies) - $11.50

We also have hamburgers, hot dogs, fish, french dip, and sandwiches. Some salad as well, if you so desire. The. Best. BBQ. That is all.

Hey, we made the Sac Bee news! Find out what's next for the Trail's legacy!

After a 35-year ride under its current owner, Trails restaurant is closing its doors. The owner of Shoki Ramen House will turn it into a noodle restaurant, but plans to keep the Western decor.

It's official! Thanks Sactown!

"When one window closes, a bigger door opens."

We would like to officially announce that Trail's restaurant will be closing its doors on Dec. 31, 2014. As sad as we (and dad) will be to leave after 35 years in business, we are equally happy and grateful that its heart and soul will continue to live on with its next owners. Maybe not the same type of food, but the love, passion, and warmth will continue within its walls.

Thank you, again, Sacramento, for your love and support you've shown the past few decades, and especially in the past few months. Until then, we invite our Trail's family to visit again once more and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and ambiance, and so we can say thank you one last time!

Much love~

Thank you to all of our fans for their support and loyalty. There is a saying, "Everything happens for a reason." The restaurant sale is unexpectedly delayed. As a courtesy, we will try to update our fans as much as possible. Until then, enjoy the restaurant! Fernando and Rosemary are eager to serve you some up good eats!

Folks- there is less than 30 days to come by, sit on your favorite bench or bar stool, and order your favorite meal at Trail's. Whether it is shish-k-bobs, hamburger steak with onions on top, or a tender NY steak, you'll find it here. Pair your meal with a glass of red and end it with a berry cobbler, piping hot with ice cream. And don't forget to say hi to Fernando (best employee/cook we ever could wish for) and Rosemary (our friendly and fast waitress who can serve the whole restaurant). Enjoy Labor Day and have a great tomorrow!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Don't forget to wear green today to commemorate the occasion and stop by the restaurant for a traditional Irish dish: corned beef and cabbage. If you prefer something less salty, then try a savory, sweet dish- pork stew over rice. The stew has tender chunks of pork, celery, onions, and carrots. Yummy.
