We should also probably say a little something about the holiday:

Amid all the struggle in our country Independence Day serves as a reminder that we can still have monocultural moments that bring all sides of the argument together. And The United States is just that, an experiment in eternal argument, a democracy that will always have winners and losers, but, when functioning properly, lifts all people equally. The last part is still a work in progress, but maybe we can get a little closer today as we hang with strangers and friends alike under a sky of flags and fireworks.
