🎉 Fiesta Pachamama | Celebrating 20 years

"We believe dreams will come true with your support"
- Merling Preza, president and Co-Founder

Building a global cooperative of smallholder farmers took years of resilience and determination. In May, we were able to bring together the original co-founders: Thaleon Tremain, Nicolas Brown, Therese Tuttle, and President Merling Preza, along with board members from around the globe, friends, and family to celebrate 20 years of global cooperation.

This weeklong celebration included meetings with staff and partners, and a special cupping at the expanding Pachamama roastery in El Dorado Hills.

The week drew to a close with an evening of food, dancing, and cherished memories, a heartfelt tribute to Pachamama's late President RaĂșl del Águila.

This year's fourth annual Barista Latte Art Throwdown brought together baristas from the cafĂ©s in East Sacramento, Midtown, Placerville, Davis, and the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op, along with producer representatives from PerĂș, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and MĂ©xico. This was a special occasion bringing the entire Pachamama team together in a shared moment honoring the craft producers work so hard to master.

"The coffee our baristas serve every day begins with the farmers who own Pachamama. Bringing those worlds into the same room (producers, baristas, café teams, and community) helps make the full value chain feel real, human, and connected." - Cruz Conrad, Chief Retail Officer

🌎 Pachamama farmers thrive by setting their own price and controlling the entire supply chain.

With regenerative organic farming methods passed down for generations, they honor Pachamama, our mother earth, in the Quechua language of Peru.

"The thing I love about pour-over is not that it's precise. The thing I love about it is it's something I get to do. You know, it's like I grind the coffee, I put it there. It's my little moment. It's like a little meditative ritual."

Peter Giuliano is the Chief Research Officer for the Specialty Coffee Association and Executive Director of the Coffee Science Foundation — a former barista and specialty coffee shop owner turned leading coffee scientist. And even he will tell you the best part of brewing is the ritual, not the recipe. ☕

In this episode of Ologies, Peter and Alie discuss everything from the science of coffee, brewing methods, and how to ethically source the best beans. Listen up at about 50 minutes for a special mention of Pachamama! 🌍

NEW! Half-Caff from MĂ©xico đŸŠŠđŸŒ”

It’s a medium roast with notes of honey, almond, and chocolate. The finish is bright with a sweetness of starfruit and agave.

What makes it different from other half caff coffee beans?

📍Single-origin: both the caffeinated and decaf portions come from the same region in MĂ©xico

💧Mountain Water Process: a 100% chemical-free decaf method that preserves natural flavor

đŸŒ± USDA Certified Organic: grown without synthetic pesticides or fertilizers

đŸ§‘đŸŸâ€đŸŒŸ Farmer-owned: Pachamama is a cooperative owned by the growers themselves

Perfect for afternoons. For second cups. For the people in your life who love great coffee but don’t want the coffee.
