We were broken into again at roughly 4:30 this morning.
2 individuals, broke a window and entered the building stealing my register. I hate thieves. Stealing from those who are trying to earn a honest living. I wish a month of diarrhea on them.

"Feeding the prisoners" is a highly recommended act in the Qur'an (surah 76:8), but i do it because I was there for the majority of my life and I know what it feels like to know that there are Muslims on the outside who actually care about you and are willing to provide you halal food. Al-jazeera followed us all day as we prepared the food and then took it inside and served the brothers for their belated Eid Banquet.
There are thousands of Muslim converts inside California’s 33 prisons and I try to serve as many as I can - given the limitations of time, money, and access - because I know what the Eid Banquet means to them. Moreover, I want them to know that the greater Muslim community embraces them and loves them. Trust me, you have no idea what kind of hope that feeling of being loved can inspire in a man who's locked away forever.
We should take time to thank Allah for everything He has given us and reflect on those who have don't have much, rather than looking up to those who do. I hope this article empowers and educates people.
