These recent incidents only remind us that not everyone will choose kindness and we won’t let these situations change who we are.

At The Hangout Crafe, we will continue to serve with love, welcome our community, and help those who truly need a helping hand. A few bad apples may try to shake the tree, but strong trees keep growing.

We might have to be more strict on our kindness because being kind never ends … it simply just becomes wiser. We’ll continue to create a space where generosity, honesty, and community can thrive.

To Our Hangout Crafe Family,

Today, we experienced yet another dine-and-dash.

When we opened The Hangout Crafe, we chose a pay-after-you-eat system because we wanted our guests to feel comfortable and trusted. We believed that treating people like family would create the kind of community we envisioned.

Unfortunately, the number of guests leaving without paying has continued to increase, and it’s reached a point where we can no longer absorb those losses.

Effective immediately, all orders must be paid for before food is prepared and served.

This change is not a reflection of the many wonderful customers who support us every week. It’s simply a step we have to take to protect our business, our employees, and our ability to continue serving our community.

We’re grateful for everyone who has supported The Hangout Crafe, shown us kindness, and helped us grow. We appreciate your understanding as we make this necessary change.

🎉 Yesterday we celebrated a very special birthday! 🎉

We threw a party for Ms. Debbie, who just turned 60! She’s one of our friends from The Hangout who joins us every week, and we were so happy to celebrate her.

There was lots of laughter, love, and fun as we made her feel extra special on her big day. 💛

Today, we were reminded that kindness has the power to heal. 💛

This incredible family visited The Hangout Crafe today wearing their “Love Like Lincoln” shirts in honor of their sweet son and brother Lincoln.

During their visit, they quietly asked to pay for another family’s meal—expecting nothing in return except the opportunity to spread kindness.

We were deeply touched by this beautiful act of generosity. In the midst of unimaginable loss, they are choosing to honor Lincoln by sharing love with others.

To Lincoln’s Family….

Thank you for allowing us to be a small part of honoring Lincoln today. Your family’s kindness touched everyone here, and we won’t forget it. We are praying for your continued strength and are grateful that The Hangout Crafe could be part of keeping Lincoln’s beautiful legacy alive. You will always have a place here.”
