The Forest Service is proposing changes to recreation fees at various sites on the Allegheny National Forest.

Recreation fees provide a valuable source of funding which helps the forest maintain high-quality recreation sites, amenities, and opportunities. It has been more than twenty years since fee changes have been made for many recreation sites within the forest. This proposal will help address the increase in costs of maintenance and operation since the fees were put into place in 2001.

The public is invited to comment on the proposed recreation fee changes now through September 30, 2026. Once the period is complete, the proposed changes and comments are reviewed by a resource advisory committee who will issue a recommendation on whether to implement the fee changes.
