That's all folks! Last night around 8pm I cut a pizza then wrote Tom and Denise on the box- the last pizza was ours! We have made a decision to bring the Shell Point Pizza chapter to a close. Going out on top is the best way to go. We didn’t want to say anything in advance because we wanted our last days to be spent churning out food uninterrupted.
We have gone over the numbers multiple times and with the price of products from propane to pepperoni going up over and over again with no end in sight we have no other choice but to close our doors. The price of our pizza would have to be so high that it would deter half of our customers or we would have to go to cheaper products and lose half of our customers. We have all been there, when you go to a restaurant to eat your favorite meal and the quality changed to the point you no longer like it. We did not want to jump that shark. We also thought about completely changing the concept to a cheaper food with a bigger profit margin, but that would mean selling outside of our soul and why we even started Big Red.
We wanted to end Shell Point Pizza while our reviews were fantastic, the quality of food amazing, and we were still busy. We started SPP to get us through Covid and always knew this was a 3-year endeavor, it saddens us that have to say goodbye a year early.
We truly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful people and being part of the community. I cannot tell you how much I loved feeding your stomachs and knowing that you have our leftovers in your refrigerator, ordered our food for birthday parties and special occasions, or snowbirds that chose us for their last meal in Florida.
Our employees. If anyone is looking for customer service help, we cannot recommend our staff enough. We had THE BEST people at the window/phone and are the reason we NEVER had any complaints about our customer service. We are proud to say that SPP was the first job for our high school kids and it was a pleasure to see them blossom and gain confidence. Again, if you are hiring a student or adult, please let us know and we will put you in contact with these top-notch and amazing people.
We will be selling both trailers. If anyone is interested, they can be used as sleeping quarters for your visiting relatives or a temporary home since real estate is so expensive.
Denise is 5 ft 3, fighting the tears of menopause every day. Sales and customer service background, shocking I know since I got every name on the tickets wrong. Look for Shell Point Home Delivered Dinners in the very near future if I don’t find a job in the next 8 minutes, my magic quote time number.
Tom is 5 ft 11, very handsome, personable, and loves to talk, Walmart greeter in the making. He is still waiting for a professional baseball team to pick him up, but in case that doesn’t pan out, he has strong managerial skills in the food industry and can mix the best cocktails to make you forget all your troubles.
We came, we saw, we conquered. Thank you for all your support over the last two years. We are not moving, we live here and hope to see you in the community.
