Ogden City is advancing a proposal to restore the historic Exchange Building and bring it back into active use.
City Council is being asked to consider an agreement that would partner with an experienced local developer to preserve the building and support future occupancy, including the company headquarters for GMRE bringing 60 high paying jobs directly to Ogden.
The city had already set aside up to $1 million for basic stabilization to prevent further deterioration. This proposal puts those same funds to work as part of a full restoration effort, helping leverage private investment and long-term economic activity.
The project includes clear timelines, accountability measures, and a focus on preserving the building’s historic character while preparing it for modern use.
City Council consideration is the next step in moving this project forward.
