Next month, I am riding 400 miles in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

Because right now, more children in the U.S. lose their lives to cancer than any other disease.

Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.

My goal is to raise funds to help these brave kids and their families as they face the scariest time of their lives.

Please support my 400 mile challenge by donating through my fundraising page:

https://greatcyclechallenge.com/Riders/LauraCrossman/m

Your donation will support Children's Cancer Research Fund to develop treatments and find cures for childhood cancer.

Thank you.

So we all experience growth spurts, the physical growth happens naturally and the mentality growth happens through maturity and realizing what you really want out of life for yourself. Staying true to your core values even through your most darkest moments! Now I don't really know what a mid life crisis is but I sure hope that's what I've been experiencing the last couple years. Starting my job at Latitude 45 back in 2019 came at a time when I needed more fun and attention in my life! Many could easily put a smile on my face and hopefully vice versa! This strange new virus came about which allowed me more time to focus on my passions: fitness and teaching others how to train and eat healthy! Then I was offered the assistant manager position of Latitude 45 once it was time to get the show back on the road. I thought to myself this will be a great opportunity to gain management experience but things didn't go how it panned out in my mind. No fault to anyone but my own. I am a HORRIBLE bartender so let me explain. In order for personal growth to happen, one must be their own worst critic. At at time now when I'm trying to finally mature and somehow find a way to get my own career started during a socially distance/mask strongly recommended era I am now faced with a personal challenge. Bartending is best done when you know how to interact/flirt and have fun with your customers while rolling along with the bar drama. I do not possess the desire or intrinsic motivation to be in that role. Time is precious and for the time being I'm completely happy not stepping foot in another bar. Hard work and seeing the results from that hard work is where my heart feels happiest. Feeling valued, knowing your worth, quitting (on a dime's notice is ok because it's your life, your fragile time, your happiness that's on the line) a job that doesn't coincide with your core values are all needed for one to be totally happy and successful with their life. Never underestimate what you are capable of, be your own worst enemy and don't settle yourself into a autopilot/set on cruise mode/coasting lifestyle when you have the capacity to be so much more! Your best retirement package is your health and happiness! If you aren't happy yourself then you can't fully be your best self towards your friends, family, significant other, etc. Your first step in saving the world and curing all of the world's problems is saving yourself! I've witnessed far too many people during my role as a bartender that appear to be ok/happy but on the inside they are screaming for a better life/to stop being the machine they've created. Anyways, what I really meant to say was this: Thank You for the memories Latitude 45 and for all the people that have given me wisdom or showed compassion/kindness as there are many heart-more (XXL) people out there!! I have no doubt you are in much better hands with your new management team (Mary and Kel)! I'm sure I'll run into some of you locals but highly unlikely that it will be in a bar. Final words before I walk down this stage: Listen to your heart for it may not always be the most logical/rational answer but it knows you best and it will take care of you fully! Love to you all as my body is overcome with those fuzzy warm tingles..... when you're strange, faces come out in the rain....... no one remembers your name. Bonne journée!

About Us

More than four decades ago and before it was called Latitude 45, the original bar—Barcomb’s Lounge, which opened on June 5, 1978—was the Barcomb family household.

Throughout the years, changes of ownership and a few renovations later, the bar—a pinpoint between New York, Quebec and Vermont—has officially rebranded as Latitude 45 and caters to North Country locals and visitors.
