Round Top season is almost here, and I couldn’t be more excited. Every time I visit, I’m reminded why this antique show in the heart of Texas is such a treasure trove for designers, collectors, and anyone who loves a good find. If you’re heading down this October, here are my Top 10 Tips for making the most of your trip:
1️⃣ Come prepared. Wear comfortable shoes, bring sunscreen, and pack a water bottle—you’ll be walking a lot.
2️⃣ Make a plan… but stay flexible. There are miles of tents, barns, and fields. Decide what you’re hunting for, but leave room for surprise finds.
3️⃣ Bring cash. Some vendors take cards, but cash is still king for quick deals.
4️⃣ Start early. The best treasures go fast, and mornings are cooler.
5️⃣ Don’t be afraid to negotiate. Vendors expect it—just be respectful.
6️⃣ Measure before you go. If you’re shopping for furniture, know your dimensions so you don’t fall in love with something that won’t fit.
7️⃣ Take photos. It’s easy to forget where you saw that perfect chair or mirror—snap pics and note the location.
8️⃣ Think logistics. Bring a tape measure, a tote for small pieces, and know if you’ll need a truck or shipping for bigger items.
9️⃣ Look for character. The beauty of Round Top is the patina, the story, and the one-of-a-kind pieces you won’t find anywhere else.
🔟 Soak it in. It’s not just about shopping—it’s about inspiration, community, and the thrill of the hunt.
1️⃣1️⃣ EDIT! You absolutely MUST find and try one of her homemade ding dongs! Also she’s the coolest…she’s located and I promise you won’t regret it!
I’ll be sharing my own Round Top Roundup this year (👀 stay tuned!) with the best finds and behind-the-scenes of how I shop the fields. If you’re planning to go, what’s on your Round Top wish list?
