Forks of the River Taproom Your destination place for local craft beer on tap and a variety of beer, wine, cider, and more. We are here because of the water and so is the beer.

The Forks of the River, a local name for our location, is a taproom that not only celebrates the birthplace of the French Broad River but also the quality of water we all enjoy. We dedicate 5 taps to our breweries with-in our watershed that makes beer from these pristine mountain waters.

Our annual Pirate Day is coming up Saturday, September 5th at Headwaters Outfitters, and it’s always a good time! Bring the whole crew for a family-friendly afternoon on the river with live mermaids, a pirate costume contest, cold drinks and plenty of swashbuckling fun.

3 PM Costume Contest - adult and youth categories, with prizes chosen by a vote of the crew. Start digging through the closet and get those costumes ready!

What a way to close out the season! The Forks of the River Bluegrass Band had the whole place stomping their feet tonight at our final Forks Porch Session of the summer.

Thank you to everyone who came out to make this series so special. We are endlessly grateful for this community, the incredible local musical talent tucked into these mountains, and the river that keeps bringing us all together.

👀 One of our favorite events is back! We love a clothing swap.

Grab your girlfriends and join us for an afternoon of mimosas, music, and treasure hunting at our Ladies’ Happy Day clothing swap!

We’ll have Prosecco on tap (just add a splash of juice to make your perfect mimosa), fun tunes playing on the jukebox, and plenty of great finds waiting to be discovered.

How the clothing swap works: Bring gently used, clean clothing, shoes, and accessories that are still in great condition. When you arrive, sort your items by size on the designated tables. Then it’s time to “shop” what everyone else has brought! Take home whatever catches your eye and give your closet a refresh without spending a dime.

A couple of friendly guidelines:

-Please bring items that are in good condition and ready for a new home.
-Refrain from bringing large quantities of clothing… unless it’s really good stuff.
-At the end of the event, any unclaimed items will be donated to a local charity.

Whether you’re looking to clean out your closet, find a few new-to-you pieces, or simply enjoy an afternoon with other ladies, this is the perfect excuse to get together. Come sip, swap, and see what treasures you take home!

Join us Friday, August 7th from 6–8 PM for an evening of live bluegrass featuring Jerry Sapp, Adam Masters, Greg Trollinger, and JT Linville.

Grab a cold drink, enjoy dinner from the food truck, and kick back with some incredible local musicians. We’ll have plenty of seating, but feel free to bring your favorite camp chair if you’d like. Music will be outdoors if the weather cooperates, or we’ll move inside the taproom if needed.

A $5 recommended donation helps support the musicians.

There’s nothing better than a summer evening with great beer, good friends, and live bluegrass. We hope to see you there! 🎶

It’s almost Thursday and that means Songwriter Showcase night at Forks Of The River Taproom at Headwaters Outfitters ™️ This is a weekly event showcasing local songwriters and their songs. It is a great way to get to spend an evening. Taps are flowing and El Querubin is serving up some delicious bites from their food truck! This week my special guest is London Browne ( Eric Brown ) London Browne II is an award winning singer-songwriter blending the depth of soul based country with the authenticity of Americana. With lyrics steeped in heartbreak, hope, and hard-earned wisdom, Browne’s music captures the quiet intensity of a man who’s lived every line. His songs echo with acoustic warmth, sepia-toned nostalgia, and lyrical honesty that resonates deeply.

Join me this Thursday for another amazing night of songs on the river at the Forks Of The River Taproom at Headwaters Outfitters ™️ The Thursday Night songwriter series is fast becoming one of my favorite nights! I have so loved bringing the art of song craft to share with you and it has been an honor to have such incredible guests! My fellow songwriter this week is (McKinney ) McKinney! Mckinney is a bass player and singer-songwriter. She spent her formative years in southern West Virginia where she literally LIVED inside a music school. Deeply incapable of leaving the Appalachian mountains, but needing an escape from her 6,000 person hometown, she landed right around the bend in Asheville, NC.

When McKinney isn’t on stage you might find her teaching music lessons at LEAF Global Arts, working shows at The Orange Peel, or at lock on the Rugby pitch. The show starts at 5pm this upcoming Thursday July 23rd! The taproom will be flowing and El Qureuben food truck will be serving up some delicious bites!
