At the Gala, a few weeks ago now… the staffing agency I contracted to assist was a complete no-call, no-show. With 150 guests and a plated dinner ahead of us, it could’ve been catastrophic.

But GOD. 🙏🏾

My cousin had purchased a volunteer table for the ladies of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. – Brazoria County Alumnae Chapter, and when they saw we needed help, they jumped right in—helping us plate and freeing up other friends and family to serve.

So when the opportunity came to provide lunch for their chapter meeting yesterday, it was only right that Cajun Smoke Creole Soul showed up for the ladies who showed up for us. Thank You 🙌🏽

Behind the scenes! 28,000+ steps. THREE days in a row. 😮‍💨🔥

Between prep, cooking, loading, unloading, setting up, serving, breaking down and doing it all over again… I definitely got my workout in. 😂

That’s 84,000+ steps over three days — while feeding hundreds of people and bringing two major events to life.

Calorie deficit? ✅
Cardio? DEFINITELY. 😂
Feet? DONE. 😭

But seriously, seeing the work pay off made every single step worth it.

Building a business will get you in shape whether you planned on it or not. 😂💪🏾

To my vegan friends… y’all chose a hard struggle! 😂🌱

In preparation for the gala, I’m over here perfecting this Vegan Cajun Pasta and whew! 😂 The taste and flavor are THERE, it looks beautiful, and I’m actually impressed with how it came out… but MANNNN, it takes some different and creative methods to get here!

No butter. No dairy. No chicken stock. No shortcuts. Just seasonings, creativity, substitutions, and a whole lot of “okay… how can I make THIS vegan too?”

But I salute y’all for staying true to the lifestyle! 🫡🌱 Eating the other way is definitely easier… but apparently it’s hurting everybody, so maybe y’all are onto something.

Either way, we got there! Cajun flavor without compromising the vegan part. My “No Hen, All Heat Cajun Pasta” is Gala ready!🙌🏽🔥
