Twenty-five years ago today, our nation experienced a tragedy that would forever change our country and the fire service.

On September 11, 2001, 2,977 people lost their lives, including 343 members of the FDNY who responded when they were needed most.

Today, Roseville Fire Department joins fire departments across the country in remembering the lives lost, honoring those who answered the call, and recognizing the countless first responders who served in the days, weeks, and months that followed.

For 25 years, the fire service has carried a simple promise:

Never Forget.

Today, our flag flies in their memory.

I know we are a coffee shop but y'all also know that I love soccer. In addition to sponsoring our public high school teams as a business, I recently started volunteering with a group of other parents to support the boys soccer team booster club.

We are excited to share that we will be piloting a new match admission program for the remainder of this year's regular season home games! Starting tonight at 5pm, we are inviting everyone to come cheer on the team, with no fees charged for admission.

We are removing the financial barrier for families and lining up match sponsors to donate funds in lieu of charging at the door. Really proud to share that Makwa Coffee will be first official match sponsor, and thrilled that our friends at Roseville Fire Fighters L5051 have also stepped up.

We still need sponsors for four more home matches this season, if there are any generous individuals or other businesses who want to be part of this, please let us know!

Here is a familiar face! Welcome back, Siobhan!

Siobhan, who is playing Windy Girl in STC's production of Bowwow Powwow, is returning to STC for her fifth production. Her previous credits include Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! The Musical!, Charlotte’s Web, The Girl Who Drank the Moon, and Shrek the Musical. A descendant of the White Earth Nation, Siobhan is an 8th grader who loves reading, traveling, and thrifting, and who is proud to celebrate Indigenous community, culture, and connection through this show.

🙋‍♀️Small Business Corner! "This is America" Edition Vol. 1 🇺🇸

Recently, we have been inundated with nice-sounding emails and phone calls from other "local businesses" wanting us to buy things from them (carpet cleaning, inferior coffee beans, ad space, etc).

Today I got annoyed and responded to one of the emails, "Do you guys use ai? It's weird that you want me to buy an ad for a coupon booklet for a city where we aren't located." Instead of a response to my question, I then immediately received a phone call from Brendon (a salesperson with a TX area code) imploring me to buy ad space in a "neighborhood magazine" since I had responded to their email with interest. (hmmm.....)

Turns out the "neighborhood" is a corporate-designed 'community' of expensive homes in Woodbury, 20+ miles away from our shop, and the 'magazine' publishes "affluent neighborhood magazines, reaching millions of homeowners in upscale communities since 2004."

But wait! It gets better! The publisher is Stroll, which is owned by The N2 Company, whose mission is "to honor God and strengthen the family." 🤔

So anyhow, if you're wondering why we are slow to respond to donation requests and other emails, it's because we have to sift through this kind of garbage in our inbox and voicemail on a daily basis.

And don't worry, we'll keep our dollars right here in our community closer to home whenever we can.🩵

Annual reminder that there is a State Fair park & ride near us (yay!) and to please support locally owned Roseville area businesses this time of year!

Yes we are in Roseville and there is a park & ride across the parking lot AND we have plenty of parking reserved for customers of our shop!

State Fair time is rough for many small businesses in our area. We appreciate everyone who continues to support us no matter what! 🩵🩵
