Did you all see this post about us that went viral? As of this morning 5600 likes and 2100 shares. That’s crazy! I’ve tried to read and like every comment and answered any questions I can. But, the fact is with 2100 shares, each one of those shares has 10, 20, even 100’s of comments as well, so I can’t possibly read them all. And the most common theme in the comments is, “I would love to help support these people, sounds like my kind of place, we will check it out soon.” The outpouring of love and support for myself, Louise, and my guys is humbling. Speaking for myself, while I take pride in taking care of Louise, there are thousands of people out there taking care of spouses or family members with dementia. What makes my story different is the community that supports me. In particular Joe and Ron who come in here five days a week and work for free because they know this town isn’t big enough to support a restaurant. Louise ran a bank here in town for 20 years, she is the sweetest person in the world, and the community loves her.
Back to the numbers; With 2,100 shares, and let’s say an average of 10 comments each saying they’ll come see us, that’s over 20,000 people planning a visit! As you can imagine, we are not set up for that, we can make about 10 pizzas an hour, max. And if Joe had to do that over an 8 hour shift we’d be sweeping him off the floor. So keep that in mind if you stop in and we are really busy. I always warn people, the beer and food are great, but the service sucks. I’m not in this to build a big beer and pizza business, I’ve never desired to be in the food services or bar industry. I’m in this out of necessity. It’s something I can do to pay some bills while taking care of Louise. And we truly love hanging out with friends and meeting new people. By far the worst part of caregiving for me is I miss my friends that I used to go see all the time. With the brewery at least people come and see me and I get to meet new people all the time.
So I invite you all to come see us, but I’m not sure how it works out if a lot of you show up at once. We’re just three crusty old dudes and a hot chick, hanging out, pouring beer and slinging pizza. ~ Jay
PS: I’ve answered a ton of private messages asking what our hours are, and some people have already come to see us only to find out we were closed. Please google it! - Rose Garage Brewing & Taps - You can also find the hours right here on Facebook and I’m including a photo of our menu with hours in this post.
