Today was a big one.

After months of planning, building, stressing, problem solving and a whole lot of hard work, we officially cut the ribbon on Boxcar Burgers at Smith Haven Mall.

What started as an idea between two best friends keeps growing into something bigger than we ever imagined.

Thank you to everyone who came out today, everyone who helped us get here, and everyone who continues to support Boxcar. We truly appreciate it.

🚂 The wait is almost over… our OFFICIAL GRAND OPENING announcement is coming soon!

We’ve been quietly serving the Smith Haven Mall community for just over three incredible weeks, and the response has exceeded anything we could have hoped for.

The burgers are flying off the grill, the fries are being cut fresh every day, and the shakes have been keeping up their end of the bargain.

Now it’s almost time to celebrate the right way.

“Gandy dancer” came from the rhythmic movements crews used when lining and tamping rails, making it look almost like a dance. These workers were essential to keeping railroads safe and operational.
