Tomorrow (8/22/26) will be your last chance to check out the Michigan Sculpture Guild exhibit “Past and Future: a Sculptural Look at Art” at the Anton Art Center in Mt. Clemens. We are proud that the following RGA members had work juried into this show: Dr. Anne Furnaris, Laura Gabriel, Suzanne Wilson, Christina Haylett, and Sharon Will. Two RGA members took awards: Honorable Mention Award for "Susu" by Laura Gabriel (shown below) and the Sculptors Guild of Michigan 65th Anniversary Award for "The Inner Sphere" by Dr. Anne Furnaris.

The deadline to enter the 2026 Thumb Area Artist's Exhibition is August 7th so paint or sculpt quickly!

RGA is hosting its 65th presentation of the Thumb Area Art Exhibit. Over $1100 in cash prizes will be awarded.

Artists are welcome to apply if they live in the following Michigan counties: Genesee, Huron, Lapeer, Macomb, Oakland, Sanilac, St. Clair, Tuscola and Wayne.

Deadline for entry is 11:59 pm on Friday August 7, 2026.

Our next meeting will be June 9th, 7pm at the United Methodist Church in Romeo located at 280 N. Main Street. This month the itinerary will be a little different in that we will have two presentations as well as our regular meeting and snacks. We are pleased that our Ken Taylor Scholarship winner, Iva Ioco, will be here to tell us a bit about herself and accept our award check.

The June educational presenter will be the highly entertaining art history teacher Gary Faszholz and his topic will be Salvador Dali.

As a reminder, our Guild does not have meetings in July or August so this is our last chance to gather together until September.

Our next meeting will be May 12th, 7pm at the United Methodist Church in Romeo, located at 280 N. Main Street. The meeting begins at 7pm followed by snacks and then a presentation. This month members of the RGA will show their work and tell the group what inspires them.
