Nature is healing—art is returning to superofficial.
A few friends came in last week and as we talked about how odd it felt with the gallery all moved-out we spitballed a fun idea that's now becoming a reality: we're gonna to have a "Petite Art Exhibit" in the middle of the cafe—on the PILLAR (henceforth to be known as the SUPILLAR!)
It's silly, it's small, it's unconventional and, really, it might be perfect. By our estimation, it's exactly what we need to get back in the art game and make sure superofficial remains a home for art in Rome.
The goal is simple: exhibit for sale small, budget-friendly pieces of all mediums to our customers at the cafe. We know times are tough and money is tight, and this price point ($35!) is meant to help folks get something unique, something nice, something small that will brighten their day and engage with local art at the same time. Some would call that a win-win and we'd agree.
For those interested in submitting work for the SUPILLAR petite art exhibit: we have an online application for submissions (link in bio). We are happy to say that applications are *free* and the commission for sales will be $5 (+taxes and processing fees). Applications are being accepted now through July 26.
We will be holding a reception for the show opening on Friday, August 07 at 6pm
