Due to a recent circulating post on Facebook, I want to address some concerns. The customer who made the Facebook post ordered the garlic sauce chicken and the worm they found we suspect came from the broccoli. This should never have happened. We sincerely apologize for this. The employee who spoke to him had used the word “normal” but they only meant that it was normal for bugs to come from the vegetables- NOT that it was normal to receive worms in your food. We are sorry for the confusion in communication but please bear with us when some of our employees first language is not English.
The poster stated the worm was alive and moving. All the vegetables after being washed are tossed and cooked at a high temperature on the woks, which is the basic operation of Chinese food. I do not believe the worm could be alive in the cooked food but we cannot confirm or deny that because the food was never brought in for us to inspect. Regardless, the customer received a full refund for their order and we apologized.
The day after this incident, the Health Department came in to observe the way our staff prepares and cooks all the food. Any concerns were addressed and corrected, however I would like to express my deepest apologies to the loyal guests of Lucky House for the negligence caused by our kitchen staff. We are taking greater measures to supervise and manage the kitchen to ensure the hygiene.
