At the heart of our restaurant lies a heartfelt Montana theme, inspired by our deep ties to both Michigan and the beautiful landscapes of Montana. As high school sweethearts from between Rogers City and Alpena, my husband and I forged a bond that brought us back together. His journey took him to Glendive, Montana, where he pursued his dreams in the oilfield, while I found my calling working at Badlands Consulting. There, I honed valuable skills in accounting, invoicing, and office management, all thanks to the mentorship of Tracey & Rachel Levi. The friendships and experiences I gained there were pivotal in shaping my professional life.
After years of struggling to conceive, we were blessed with our son, Terry Bob, through IVF. This life-changing moment prompted us to reconsider our future. With both families rooted in Michigan, the opportunity to purchase a restaurant—previously known as the Cozy Corner and the Rooster Tail—felt like a sign. My husband surprised me by making an offer for the restaurant before I even knew about it. When he told me they accepted, I was both excited and scared, especially being 30 weeks pregnant and facing the prospect of relocating 1,200 miles. However, the chance to raise our child close to family felt right.
Renovation: A Labor of Love
Renovating the restaurant was a labor of love and perseverance. We tackled everything from fresh paint to new appliances and essential plumbing and electrical work. These renovations were not just about updating a space; they were about creating a warm, welcoming environment where families can gather and create memories.
Honoring Our Montana Roots
Montana has profoundly influenced who we are. From butchering our own cattle to learning about local agriculture, we embraced the values of fresh, wholesome food. Our menu reflects our love for Montana, featuring dishes inspired by our favorite places, with each item telling a story.
•Terry Bob’s Birthplace: Miles City, where our son was born.
•First Adventures: Opheim, where we celebrated our friends’ wedding, and Red Lodge, our first vacation as husband and wife.
•Community and Tradition: Great Falls, where we experienced our first rodeo, and Libby, where my husband enjoyed unforgettable hunting trips.
•Fond Memories: Fallon, a favorite spot where we often enjoyed delicious pizza together.
Our menu also pays homage to those cherished experiences. You’ll find the Tracey Levi Omelette, named after my mentor and good friend , and the Smith Club, honoring our friend Brady Smith. Each dish is crafted with care, using fresh, homemade ingredients, including our daily-baked bread, ensuring that every meal embodies the values of quality and love we hold dear.
Throughout the restaurant, you’ll find large, blown-up pictures of Great Falls and Libby, celebrating the beauty of these locations. We plan to add information about each place, highlighting their significance and the memories they hold for us.
