Imagine not liking me, and I am just over here listening to Rob Zombie, baking treats and ordering sparkly things….
My bestie told me to close today, and my god, did I want to!
She is the responsible, organized, and put together person, in this dynamic.
Listening to her is always a good idea.
And I have so much going on right now, my mind is fried.
BUT, and, dear lord, we are in a mess when I am the voice of reason….i just could not do it.
I feel like I am letting people down when they find us closed.
With great coffee, comes great responsibility!!!
Anyway, I am giving notice now:
We WILL be CLOSED next Monday AND Tuesday.
I don’t feel so very bad if I give you a good heads up. Also, knowing I am going to have two days where, even though I’ll be doing “worky” stuff, I do not have to plan pastries or be up at the a** crack of dawn, will put me in a super happy place for the next six days!!

I don’t remember which of the major three summer/beach/touristy holidays it was a few year ago when it happened, but our bean order got “lost” in transit.
In a matter of hours The Front Porch had us squared away with enough beans to get us through the week.
Yesterday, Laura saw the post where I realized (worse-Saylor realized) I forgot to place an order.
This is her reaching out to offer us help!

Just a heads up, it’s Monday.
I know a lot of times we will open Monday mornings for a few hours so you can get all caffeinated and carbed up, but not today.
We need a breather.
We will see y’all bright and early tomorrow morning!
If you must have coffee, I am one of those who MUST have coffee, and are not aware, there is a new little place down the way.
I have not been.
I do not have the need to go elsewhere for coffee….even when B&B is closed.

The dread that I immediately felt, apparently, was written all over my face.
MOOOOOOM!!!
She gave it to me Thursday.
The list.
I remember.
On index cards.
All the beans, syrups, powders, refresher bases…..
I never called.
🤦🏼‍♀️
Fortunately our roaster is just down the coast and they can usually have our beans done and overnighted with an early morning phone call.
We still have beans.
Not a lot, but enough.
I hope!!
All of this endless business (which is a good thing), is making me completely space out, more and more (which is NOT a good thing)!!!
We are usually closed on Mondays, I had kicked around the idea of opening from 8-10, so you could get your caffeine and carbs, but we could still enjoy the majority of the day off…. Not exactly off, but doing all of the behind-the-scenes things we don’t have time for on full work days!!
I have not committed to either one, either way, yet.
I’ll let you know what I decide ASAP!
I do have a few pastry orders, that will be completed, regardless of whether we are open or not! So if you have an order put in, you’re all set!

The new crystals I just unpacked, or the ginormous box of plushies that just arrived!
When I say that there is NOTHING in this shop that we do not personally use, wear, have in our home, I mean it. Quite literally.
In fact, a good many of the items you’ll find here are because we HAD TO HAVE one (or some) of whatever is was!

Good morning!!!
It is deceptive in the out.
The overcast, gray blue is giving late fall, cool temperatures, let’s make some soup and read a gothic novel vibes.
It is not that.
It is hot and swampy.
BUT, because the middle aged baker at Beads & Beans is prone to severe hot flashes at a moments notice, it is nice and cool (frigid, according to Saylor) in here….
