Cajun Shrimp and Salmon with Garlic Cream Sauce
Ingredients
For the Seafood:
• 1 lb shrimp (peeled and deveined)
• 1 lb salmon fillet (cut into portions)
• 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
• 2 tablespoons olive oil
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
For the Garlic Cream Sauce:
• 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
• 4 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 cup heavy cream
• 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
• 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning (add more to taste)
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Season the Seafood:
1. In a bowl, toss the shrimp and salmon portions with Cajun seasoning, a bit of salt, and pepper. If desired, add lemon juice for extra flavor.
2. Cook the Salmon:
2. In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the salmon skin-side down and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the salmon is cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
3. Cook the Shrimp:
3. In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the shrimp and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side until they turn pink and opaque. Remove from the skillet and set aside with the salmon.
4. Prepare the Garlic Cream Sauce:
4. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant.
4. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring to combine. Allow the cream to simmer for a couple of minutes, then whisk in the Parmesan cheese and Cajun seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little water or broth to reach your desired consistency.
5. Combine and Serve:
5. Add the cooked shrimp and salmon back into the skillet with the garlic cream sauce. Gently toss to coat the seafood in the sauce.
