We continue the cake unit by working on piping techniques! If you didn’t know, there are so many different piping tips out there for people to use and our students got a little taste of what shapes and sizes they all offer! Next is making their cakes!!

As the school year winds down, our advanced and practicum students are closing out with cakes! They’re learning so much about all the different techniques that can go with cakes and this last week we started with scratch made fondant!

Our Rockwall ISD culinary team took the stage at the National ProStart Invitational competition with passion, focus, and a drive to represent our program, our district and state at the highest level. From the first day of preparation to the final moments of competition, they showed what it truly means to commit to a craft by pushing themselves, supporting one another, and rising to every challenge with determination and heart. They walked in as students and showed the mindset of professionals.

As their instructors, we couldn’t be more proud. The dedication, humility and pride they carried with them is what defines success in our kitchen. This is only the beginning for these future industry leaders and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them!

STATE CHAMP ALERT!!! Join us in celebrating Kennedy Jacoby! She earned 1st place at the State FCCLA Leadership Conference in the Baking & Pastry event and will be representing Texas, and Rockwall ISD in Washington, D.C. come July! Shoutout to her amazing instructor as well in mentoring her throughout this entire process!

Your hard work, dedication & sacrifice don’t go unnoticed and we can’t wait to cheer you on in DC, Congratulations!!

🏆 We are thrilled that our ProStart culinary team has won first place at the state competition and earned the opportunity to represent the great state of Texas at the National ProStart Invitational in Baltimore, MD! Now we need your help to make their national dream a reality. We are launching a fundraising campaign to cover travel costs for our team. Every dollar counts! As a special thank you, the most generous donor will receive a $500 gift certificate to Lucchese, generously donated by Lucchese. What a way to end spring break! We are incredibly proud of all of our students who represented our program at this past weekend’s state ProStart competition. Their hard work, discipline, and commitment to excellence were on full display, truly reflecting everything our program believes in.

Our culinary team earned 1st place and will be advancing to the national competition in Baltimore. An incredible achievement that speaks to their skill, teamwork, and dedication. In addition, we had two students compete in individual events, both of whom also earned 1st place in their categories, showcasing their talent and drive at the highest level.

This success would not be possible without the guidance and support of our four dedicated instructors, whose combined knowledge, mentorship, and passion continue to shape and inspire our students every day.

We are honored to represent Texas on the national stage. Baltimore, here we come!

Another year, another FCCLA regional down in the books, and we’re going to state! These kids have worked hard and showcased their projects today down here in Waco, TX. We are super proud of them and their projects!
