Located in historic downtown Rockton, the Dairyhäus was founded in 1983. Our "Greek Revival" style limestone building was built in 1846 and is one of Rockton's oldest buildings. Happy Weekend—you earned it! We hope all the teachers, students, and faculty had great first days back: at Dairyhäus we’re excited cause the first weeks of school start to remind us of Fall, so Pumpkin Spice Crunch, Purple & Gold, and even Edwards Apple Orchard West Apple Cobbler is back on the menu and available in quarts at the Haus and Edwards West for their opening weekend, starting today! One of our best ice creams, Edwards West Apple Cobbler is made with real Edwards Apples, cooked into an apple cinnamon compote and real oat cobbler crumble! Try it in an Apple Cobbler sundae or cover it in caramel & whipped cream!

Pumpkin Spice Crunch is made with real pumpkin, cinnamon, and spices and makes for an amazing fall milkshake or half & half scoops with Rockford Roasting Company coffee for a yummy pumpkin spice latte! Purple & Gold is only on the menu for another few days: purple cake batter ice cream with yummy Golden Oreos!

Dairy-Free is huge this weekend with Mint Oreo & Piña Colada ice creams as well as Grape & Lemon Sorbet!

815 Day is here at Dairyhäus is all about it in so many ways!!! Did you RockYard yesterday?? Going again today?? Go Rockford visited the Häus this month and created a custom ice cream—RockYard Lavender Blueberry—and it’s rocking our socks! Now available at the GoRockford food tent at RockYard, as well as scooping at the Häus, this lavender ice cream is complimented excellently with a sweet blueberry compote and a white chocolate stracciatella flake! Grab it in a scoop or a shake at the Haus or one of our single serve cups at RockYard today!

Single serve cups? Yep! They’ve been the perfect way to head out to parties, weddings, and in this week’s instance, Natural Land Institute’s Volunteer Appreciation Day at Nygren Wetland Preserve! Dairyhäus was thankful to give thanks with ice cream to all the volunteers that keep our local NLI preserves pristine for our 815 families and nature lovers!

Our single serve cups go great for all events, and I’m happy to say we will be back at Hononegah Community High School concessions with Purple & Gold homemade ice cream! Available today in the shop (and quarts locally) our purple cake batter ice cream and crushed golden Oreos is one we look forward to each and every year when school starts!

Dairy-Free has been crazy this year and I can’t tell you how great it has been to be stopped at our catering events or while serving at the Haus and hear “we’re so thankful you have an awesome dairy-free ice cream!” The Dairyhäus is so thankful we get to be the local sweet treat for fans of dairy and dairy alternatives! This week we’re scooping Piña Colada coconut milk ice cream, Lemon & Grape sorbets, and we’re on our last bucket of chocolate mint before we re-release my favorite dairy-free ice cream, Coconut Chocolate Chip! Open daily, 12-9!

Didja know? Hours change today! 12pm-9pm thru Halloween, then 12:30-8:30 all winter long (this is our fourth season staying open all winter😃). Brownie Batter is our fastest sell-out ice cream in the last three years! Wonder if we will see it back soon???

New ice cream alert!! Brownie Batter has entered the Häus and 815 Peaches & Cream is back in celebration of the Stateline!!! Our Dairyhäus Momma Katey is showing off her baby bump along with our Stateline special, 815 Peaches & Cream. Katey has been an amazing Häus Mom for six years now and we are so excited for her, husband Josh, and twin siblings Asher & Willa: Katey is getting close to maternity leave! She’s done an excellent job prepping Jackie & the team with her duties and we got her in for one last modeling photo with 815 Peaches & Cream: a smooth sweet peach ice cream made with a real peach compote. Thanks for everything Katey!!!

Now scooping: Brownie Batter! A decadent chocolatey brownie batter ice cream with gooey swirls of fudge and real gooey brownies! This one has been on the “we gotta make it” list for a long time and after a bunch of testing (and tasting) it’s now on this weekend’s menu, along with Blue Moon, Salty Caramel Cashew, Dairy-Free Piña Colada, Blueberry Cheesecake, Toffee & Fudge, and more!

This week has melted by so quickly with a ton of ice cream events! Big thanks to Thermo Fisher Scientific for inviting Dairyhäus catering to your employee event, as well as Anderson Japanese Gardens for welcoming Brent as guest reader for your Garden Explorers weekly kids fun day! We also invited Go Rockford to the Dairyhäus kitchen to craft “RockYard Lavender Blueberry!” The GoRockford team is featuring a new Häus creation at their first ever 815 weekend family fun event: RockYard Lavender Blueberry is a smooth lavender ice cream with white chocolate stracciatella and a blueberry compote swirl! Available next weekend at RockYard!

Carter & Clifford are back! Family fishing up north, Carter enjoyed some downtime—all while Clifford, the Big Red Freezer Van, had some unscheduled and unfortunate downtime as well. Both are back and rejuvenated for an awesome finish to the summer! See you all weekend long, 12-10pm!

Rockton Fire Protection District has joined Dairyhäus to support our local firefighters, EMT’s, and paramedics! Come out, grab a badge, a firehat, and a cone—all in support of our local Rockton Firefighters Association! An ambulance and fire truck is on sight for kids of all ages to check out, a portion of every sale including quarts goes back to Rockton Fire! See you 12-10 tonight!

Cold brewed in cream: Rockford Roasting Company Dairyhäus homemade ice cream is the “Collab of the Decade” as we approach ten years of this 815 team up! We love the consistency, passion, and quality that Ben and team at RRC bring to their brews and we are so thankful to continue this partnership into the future.

Over a decade ago, there was no denying Ben’s passion when Rockford Roasting burst onto scene with backyard roasts that sold out in minutes. As their brick and mortar opened in downtown Rockford, I was drawn to the attention to detail in their awesome coffee. February of 2017, we sat down for our first business meeting and sampled a variety of coffees—ultimately to take a few roasts home and begin our own testing of beans, quantities, and time—to come up with our first test batches. It was a tasty time of experimenting and we’ve now enjoyed making a variety of coffee ice creams for you, always with RRC’s signature “Symbol” roast.

Coffee & cream lovers have enjoyed the aptly named “Rockford Roasting Company Co. Coffee,” made with simple ingredients to let the ice cream stay at the forefront for as many years as we’ve made it, while the sweet treat lovers tend to enjoy some of the variants we make on the original. This weekend we’re scooping Mocha Mud—the same smooth Rockford Roasting cold brew ice cream you’ve always enjoyed complimented with crunchy Oreos ala Cookies & Cream. From time to time you’ll also see Java Fudge as well as Caramel Cappuccino: I bet you can figure out the added swirl ingredient into each.

We are such big fans of the Stateline small business and restaurant scene and love to incorporate our community into our ice cream for a treat your literally can’t get anywhere outside of the 815. What collab do you think we should do next??? We’re really looking forward to fall with our Edwards Apple Orchard West ice creams arriving on their opening day!!!
