Spotlight Time! Alex Ramos
At 16 years old, he started at the original Dunn Hwy 55 as a minimum-wage employee, balancing two jobs while trying to find his way in the world. But there was something different about Hwy 55—it felt like family.
When the location’s operator unexpectedly left, he stepped up to help. That decision changed everything. He was told, “If you run it as you own it, I’ll make sure you own it.” At just 20 years old, that promise became reality as he became a business owner through in-house financing.
His journey wasn’t perfect. There were setbacks, mistakes, and plenty of lessons along the way. But he kept moving forward, living by a simple philosophy: “Outwork your mistakes.”
With opportunities from Kenney Moore, hard work, and the support of the people around him, his operations grew—and so did his family. Today, his wife, Amanda, and their three daughters have all worked alongside him.
From a teenage employee to a multi-location owner, his story is a reminder of what makes Hwy 55 special: opportunity, commitment, hard work, and people willing to help you succeed.
