Job Title: Admin/Accounts Officer
Location: Solutions Business Center (SBC) Office, Rockford, IL

Position Overview:
Solutions Business Center (SBC) is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Admin/Accounts Officer to support both internal operations and client service delivery. This role involves handling day-to-day bookkeeping and payroll processes for SBC and its clients, preparing administrative documentation, and assisting the Director with scheduling and general office coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Bookkeeping
Perform accurate data entry of financial transactions for SBC and its clients using accounting software QuickBooks Online.
Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including bank reconciliations, invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
Assist in monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
Prepare basic financial summaries or reports as required by the Director or clients.
Payroll Processing
Process bi-weekly and monthly payrolls for SBC and client staff in compliance with applicable laws.
Ensure timely filing of payroll taxes and submission of payroll reports.
Maintain employee payroll records, timesheets, and related documentation.
Administrative Support
Prepare letters, reports, forms, and other office documents with high accuracy and professionalism.
Maintain organized filing systems (both electronic and paper-based).
Support office operations, supply management, and basic HR recordkeeping.
Executive Assistance
Manage the Director’s calendar, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments.
Support the Director in drafting correspondences, compiling reports, and maintaining task follow-ups.
Handle confidential information with discretion.
Qualifications:
Certification in Accounting and Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll, or administrative support.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and accounting software QuickBooks Online.
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic office environment.
Preferred Skills:
Experience supporting small businesses or professional service firms.
Familiarity with IRS forms, payroll tax filings, and basic financial compliance.
Bilingual or multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Work Environment:
This is an in-office role based at SBC’s headquarters. Occasional off-site meetings or errands may be required.
