I was given devasting news that our Zoelily Familia Frank has passed away at the age of 20. I am devastated. That young man was amazing. A fighter who never complained. When I wanted to do something for him while he was going through leukemia at the age of 16 I believe, he said all he wanted was a blood drive. He was thinking of others when he himself was fighting. I love this kid. I couldn't believe he ate all 5 of the Empanadas he and his family would get. He wanted to prove it to me so he had his mom take pictures with him at the table and needed angled he said so I could see the light. One of the pictures needed to have the clock he said because he wanted to prove to me he was eating them all. His love for our beef Empanadas was more than anyone who's ever come to the truck. I'm going through some health things now a days and I know that I don't act with the strength this young man had. Frank I hope you're finally pain free. I truly will miss you and am crushed. I am not really a crier but I can't even mention your story right now without shedding tears.
To your parents, who I won't use their name for their privacy, my deepest condolences. I'm here for anything you may need. May you in rest in peace Frank

I was actually playing with ChatGPT when it showed an article we were mentioned in that I never saw. I opened it and am so humbled. Thank you and and . This was an incredible article that some how I missed. I am with some great company with The Barn who has rebranded to , and Adams Beer Garden, (can't find your IG). All great places that I've been too and have amazing stuff and great people.

Seeing this made me feel great but sad at the same time. Many who follow know my journey. My Mayor and his administration pretty much targeted us and forced us out. Promises that never came to fruition by the Mayor, Councilman and anyone I ever talked too. Zoelily Empanadas no longer can call Rockaway Township home. I still live here. But this article brings to light that we were seen as a destination spot for Rockaway Township. I always say I appreciate our Zoelily Familia. All the people that supported us throughout the years. We wouldn't be known without you. We aren't dead, my friend just said we are free agents. Lol. Looking for the next town we can call home and hopefully be a positive light that can help attract people to that city. To the other places on the list, keep killing it. You guys are awesome. And there are a bunch of other great places in Rockaway.

Appreciate the article so much. It made me feel great to be one the reasons we put our town on the map. So many people came from far away to visit. I promise in the near future I'll have more to say. Thank you. This put a smile on my face today. Any location ideas? Love to hear thoughts.

Zoelily Empanadas named one of the best Empanadas for 2026 by NJ.com. 10 years out here grinding. People don't know the blood, sweat and tears to make this happen. We would be nothing without the Zoelily Familia. The love and support is what has always fueled us. Appreciate the Familia so much. Without you there would be no Zoelily Empanadas.

Almost 10 years in the business, we leave your guests leaving with smiles on their faces. Give us a call. Every party becomes epic when rhe EmpanadaMobile rolls up. I never know what to put on social media now a days. But when I found this out it hit me hard. Not many things in life hit you and make you sad and mad at the same time.

Jack Safkan passed away June 2nd according to a message on his page. Way too young!!! Him and I go back to middle school and high school days. The homie was a part of the Zoelily Familia, he was an OG supporting us in the Gazebo days. Use to come with the family all the time. Then when his son got older, they started visiting us a a special father-son outing. And his son is awesome. Great kid! And he was always up to trying something new and letting us use the videos. Those were always great times.

To his son, to his family, I'm sorry for your loss. I was genuinely gutted to hear we loss Jack. I've missed nott seeing him as much since they kicked me out of Rockaway. Jack has messaged or dmed about it a couple times. And on my last post Jack said something because he always supported the business and myself. Jack you're gonna be missed homie. To young, too soon. Life sucks sometimes.

To the Zoelily Familia,
Wasn't expecting to write anything today. But this past week I've been running into so many in Zoelily Familia. I've missed you all. I literally am so happy to see everyone. You all make me realize this was so much more than just a food truck. We built something special. I know I haven't been as a vocal as normal but when you pretty much get attacked by your local Mayor and his administration and removed not just from your spot but basically your home. Rockaway wasn't just a spot, it's a place I've called home for over 30 years. If you live here and became part of the Familia you are my neighbors, and the many who traveled all the way to Rockaway made us a destination location. You all were part of the Familia. Your kind words almost make me want to cry at times. I was told many things about being able to possibly come back but I've become aware that I'm not welcomed back. The Mayor and the Administration in my opinion tried to shut us down. I was told in a couple weeks there would be a solution and that was a very long time ago. Rockaway unfortunately is part of our history and no longer our future. A lot has happened to me that unfortunately has prevented me from doing it daily. But when I fight to bring Zoelily Empanadas back full time, I do for the Zoelily Familia. And running into everyone recently and the phone calls and conversations have true made me understand the love Zoelily Empanadas has out there. It's more than just Rockaway. And I genuinely want to thank you all. Not done yet. "Don't call it come back, I've been here for years"
