It takes a SPECIAL kind of person to truly understand a Libra. ♎️

We can be soft-hearted and strong-minded, loving and distant, peaceful but not afraid to stand on business. We crave balance, loyalty, honesty, and genuine connections. We notice the little things, feel more than we let on, and sometimes stay quiet about things that speak volumes.

We’ll give you grace, try to see both sides, and fight to keep the peace. But don't mistake our kindness for weakness or our silence for ignorance.

A Libra can love you deeply and still choose their peace over your presence. We don't always need the last word. Sometimes, our absence says everything our mouth never had to. 💅🏽⚖️

Let me clear something up real quick, because apparently we need to have a conversation about the difference between supporting Black-owned businesses and making assumptions about a 7-year-old child. 👀

Maddie’s Corner ALWAYS asks for suggestions on where she should go next. ALWAYS. The opportunity is there for ANY business, ANY owner, and ANY member of the community to make a suggestion. So if there are Black-owned restaurants and food businesses you want to see Maddie review, DROP THE NAMES IN THE COMMENTS! That’s literally what we ask you to do. 💯

But let’s be clear about something else: my daughter is SEVEN YEARS OLD. She is a smart, intelligent, beautiful little queen in the making who is proudly Caddo Indian, Mexican, Caucasian, and Black. ❤️ She is exploring food, having experiences, learning about her community, and doing something she genuinely LOVES.

This is not a color thing. This is about a CHILD enjoying her interests, discovering new places, and sharing those experiences with others.

I have not had to sit down with my daughter and teach her about passive-aggressive behavior, hidden messages, or the assumptions adults sometimes make. And I certainly won't let grown folks turn something that is supposed to be fun for her into something it was never intended to be.

If you want to see Maddie visit a particular business, suggest it. If you own a business, introduce yourself. If you know a great spot, tag it. We welcome suggestions from EVERYONE.

But if people choose not to participate in the very conversation where we're asking for suggestions, we will continue choosing places the way we have been.

We are not going to apologize for that.

Maddie’s Corner is about FOOD, FAMILY, COMMUNITY, and a little girl enjoying her childhood. It is not a racial checklist, and my child is not responsible for carrying the weight of adult assumptions.

The invitation has ALWAYS been open. The comments are ALWAYS open. The opportunity is ALWAYS there.

So let's share the businesses, make the recommendations, support these owners, and stop putting intentions on a child who is simply doing what she loves.

Maddie will continue being Maddie. And we're going to keep enjoying the journey.

I could have sworn I said I was going to mind my business. 😂

Then all kinds of people started coming out of the woodwork, subliminally threatening my child and all kinds of stuff….so I decided to spend about **5 minutes** looking at the actual law instead.

Not rumors.
Not opinions.
Not “somebody told me.”

**THE LAW.**

Illinois law says certain arrest information is supposed to be made available **as soon as practical, but no later than 72 hours after the arrest.**

So when an arrest happens on **September 25th** and the public reporting doesn't come until **October 7th**, I'm naturally going to have questions about the timeline.

I'm not accusing anybody of anything.

I'm simply asking a very basic question:

**If the law says 72 hours, why are we just hearing about it 12 days later?**

That's not an accusation.

That's arithmetic. 🧮

And apparently, all it took was a little post to make people uncomfortable.

I was going to mind my business...

**But apparently, my business found me. 😂**

Now carry on before I start digging more.

Now listen… I haven’t been watching City Council meetings lately. I’ve been minding my business, protecting my peace, enjoying MY BIRTHDAY MONTH and staying in my Libra lane. ♎️💅🏽

This girl has a way of figuring things out when she gets bored. 😂😂😂

And I’m just saying… if I get bored, City Council might accidentally become my new favorite TV show. 📺🍿🤣
