It’s a special time of year that we look forward to — a chance to gain new perspectives, learn something new, reconnect with industry friends, and be surrounded by one of the best communities in the world. 💕✨

This year feels especially meaningful as we celebrate two incredible women from our team sharing their expertise on the Coffee Fest stage. We’re incredibly proud to see our Education Manager, Emma LaVoie, speaking alongside an inspiring panel of founders + owners on the topic of inclusivity in coffee. She’ll also be competing in the Latte Art World Championship Open!

Our Director of Sales + Education, Amélie Boulanger, will also be teaching several classes and serving as a judge for the Latte Art World Championship!

Music has always lived at the core of DOCR — right alongside coffee and dessert. It inspires movement, creates connection, and impacts each of us in its own mysterious, magical way. ✨ To keep it right where it belongs, we’re introducing Oasis Underground — our very own band edition of Open Mic Night at DOCR’s Rochester cafe.⚡️🎙️

Every Thursday through June + July, our host, Beckett, will be setting the stage for bands to play their hearts out — up to 4 songs each. 💗 Our first night kicks off next Thursday, June 4th! Sign-ups begin at 7pm, with music starting at 8pm.

It’s Memorial Day weekend. Maybe you’ve got plans dancing through the city for Movement festivities 🪩🕺, or you’re standing over a grill cooking a BBQ feast for your friends and fam. But have you considered starting your Saturday morning at DOCR for a latte art class? 🤔

Although Eli Tea’s only Michigan location closed in 2025 after the building was sold, their connection to the Michigan community is still present. DOCR has proudly carried Eli Tea on our menu for more than 10 years now. 💕

Eli Tea’s new home base is now in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood, and if you’re ever in the area, we highly recommend stopping by the cafe. Owner + Founder Eli said his connection to Michigan will always remain intact (his mother still lives here!), and he hopes the cafe can one day return to its roots. In the meantime, you can find Eli poppin’ up at vendor markets throughout the year. He also joined us at our Ferndale Cafe + HQ for a tea tasting with our team last week.

We sipped through a thoughtfully curated lineup of teas, matcha, and hojicha that took us on a journey. Stay tuned as we’ll be updating our tea menu soon! 🫖✨
