🍂☕ Our FALL MENU officially dropped yesterday, and baby… we’re about to spend the next few weeks enjoying every bit of these fall specials!

I put a whole lot of love into this menu—from the flavor combinations to the little details that make every drink hit just right. Our cold foams are handmade right here in-house, and so are our syrups. No shortcuts. Just good coffee, good flavor, and a little Equal Grounds love in every cup. 🤎

I’m SUPER proud of this menu, and now I need to hear from y’all…

We’re officially stepping into fall at Equal Grounds Community Cafe, and baby… this new fall menu is READY for you. 🍁

We’ve been creating some amazing new specials, mixing up flavors, and making handcrafted cold foams specifically with your taste buds in mind. Consider this your invitation to come down, get cozy, and find your new fall favorite.

And don’t forget—TOMORROW, September 1st, is OPEN MIC NIGHT! 🎤

From 6–8 PM, come show us what you got! Poets, singers, acapella, spoken word, new s**t, old s**t, something you wrote five minutes ago in the parking lot 😂—BRING IT.

☕️ BARISTAS… STEAL THIS HACK! 👀🫧

Okay, fellow baristas and at-home coffee makers… I may have found a little hack that I am LOVING! 😂🙌🏾

I found a fun and super easy way to store and serve our homemade cold foams and cream tops — and guess where it came from?

🎂 THE BAKER’S AISLE! 🎂

Yep! These are CAKE BATTER DISPENSERS! 😂

And listen… they are not just fun to use. They actually work REALLY well! The foam comes out smoothly and evenly, without that big SPLASH that sometimes happens when you're trying to pour or sq**rt your cold foam into a drink. 🙌🏾

For our fall specials, each drink has its own flavored cold foam or cream top, so we’ve been keeping them in these little containers and I absolutely LOVE how easy they make everything.

Now, I’m no professional barista. 😂 I’m literally just over here trying to find easier, cleaner, smarter ways to be the best barista I can possibly be!

So I need my fellow coffee people to test this hack with me! 👀☕️

☕️ LET ME KEEP IT REAL FOR A MINUTE…

Owning a coffee shop is STRESSFUL. 😮‍💨

Like… “How many nooks, crannies, moving parts, and little avenues can one person possibly keep oiled?” stressful. 😂

There is SO much that goes on behind the scenes to keep this ship moving smoothly.

I’m a one-woman band over here trying to make sure every drink is made the way YOU want it, every customer leaves satisfied, the shelves are stocked, the bills are paid, RG&E is handled, paperwork is updated, vendors are paid, schedules are together, the doors stay open, and somehow… I’m still supposed to remember to eat lunch. 😂☕️

And truthfully? Sometimes it’s overwhelming.

There are things I wish I had done differently from the very beginning. There are things I know I’ll change as I continue to grow. There are lessons I’ve had to learn the hard way, and there are things I’m still figuring out.

But there is ONE thing I would never change:

Choosing to be your barista. ❤️

Because I LOVE this environment.

I love the conversations.
I love the familiar faces.
I love meeting new people.
I love watching someone walk in having a rough morning and leave just a little lighter.
I love the people who come in because they love coffee, community, and the whole café life.

I’m only two and a half years in to creating the community I dreamed about when I chose Equal Grounds. And believe me, this journey has come with wins, losses, good seasons, bad seasons, really good days, and “Lord, what am I doing?” days. 😂

Would it be easier to clock in somewhere, do exactly what someone else tells me to do, collect a steady paycheck every week, and know exactly what I’m bringing home?

ABSOLUTELY.

But I would rather risk it all and pave my own way.

I want the wins.
I’ll take the losses.
I’ll celebrate the good months.
I’ll survive the bad ones.
I’ll figure it out when the money covers the bills, and I’ll hustle harder when I have to dip into my personal savings to make things work.

Because I chose Equal Grounds Community Cafe.

And even on the hardest days, I wouldn’t change that decision.

So when you walk through those doors and I hear that little DING… I don’t take it for granted.

Because that ding means someone chose us.

Someone chose this café.
Someone chose my business.
Someone chose my dream.

And that means I have to keep going.

So, from the bottom of my heart…

If you come in and decide to step outside your comfort zone — try a new coffee flavor, one of our specials, a different syrup, or something you’ve never had before — and you don’t like it… PLEASE TELL US! ❤️

Seriously. PLEASE. DON’T LEAVE UNSATISFIED.

You spent your hard-earned money with us, and at Equal Grounds, your satisfaction is more important than the money. Period. 💯

Maybe the drink isn’t sweet enough.
Maybe it’s TOO sweet.
Maybe there’s too much syrup.
Maybe you picked a flavor and realized, “Yeahhhh…this ain’t for me.” 😂☕️

That’s OKAY!

Just walk back up to the register, talk to your barista, and let us know. We will happily make, remake, adjust, or create something you actually LOVE. 🙌🏽

And please don’t ever think, “Well, it’s already made, so I guess I have to take it.”

NOPE! 😂

Our job is CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.

What we DON’T want is for you to walk out our door unhappy and think your only option is to go home and write a review about how much you didn’t enjoy your drink. 😩😂

I cannot believe we are almost in SEPTEMBER! 😳 Where did the summer go?! And around here, it’s starting to look a LOT like fall—and baby, we are leaning all the way into COZY & COMFORT! 🍁📚☕️

But I gotta share something with y’all…

We are NOT your typical cookie-cutter café. 😂

Everything in here isn’t brand-new, modernized, matching, and perfectly coordinated—and honestly?

DO WE CARE?! 😂😂

If you’ve ever been inside Equal Grounds, then you already know…our chairs don’t match. Our furniture doesn’t match. We’ve got a little bit of this, a little bit of that—and somehow, it all just WORKS. ❤️

✨ COFFEE TIME CALMNESS WAS EVERYTHING! ✨

Both sessions of our Coffee Time Calmness Sound Bath were absolutely beautiful! 🧘🏽‍♀️☕️✨

It was such a joy to open the doors of Equal Grounds Community Cafe and create a space where people could slow down, breathe, release, and simply BE.

And let me tell you… everyone left REFRESHED, REVIVED, REVITALIZED & REFILLED! 🙌🏽💫

The energy, the peace, the stillness… it was exactly what so many of us needed.

And I KNOW a lot of you wanted a ticket but weren’t able to make it this time. 👀

Happy Friday, y’all! ☕️🙌🏾

TODAY WAS A DAY!!! 😂 But when I tell you… I DID THAT! I’m over here patting myself on the back because BABYYYY… 😮‍💨👏🏾

And let me make this even crazier… I DIDN’T EVEN LOOK AT THE SCHEDULE! 😂 I actually put MYSELF on for a DOUBLE today! So I’ve been here since 6:15 AM and I’m not leaving until 6:15 PM. 😭☕️

And let me tell you… EVERY SINGLE THING I DID TODAY WAS WORTH IT.

From the moment we opened at 7:00 AM, customers were coming in and out the door by the dozens. I was already moving, serving, making drinks, taking orders—and then one gentleman walks in with a whole spreadsheet in his hand. 😂

At first, I thought it was some kind of invoice. Nope!

Come to find out, this man had created an ORDER FROM OUR MENU FOR HIS OFFICE. 😳

Y’all… 37 ITEMS. 🤯

Food. Sandwiches. Drinks. Smoothies. Salads. Omelets. EVERYTHING.

And guess what? I WAS BY MYSELF THIS MORNING.

But let me tell you something… I HANDLED THAT ORDER WITH EASE. 💪🏾

Every sandwich was labeled so they knew exactly what was inside. Every drink had a tag so nobody had to guess which one was theirs. And while I was putting together the BIGGEST SINGLE ORDER I HAVE EVER TAKEN IN THIS CAFE, I was STILL serving all the other customers walking through the door.

Entrepreneurship ain't easy. I’m not going to sit here and tell you it is.

But that SMILE on his face? 😁
Him eating his sandwich right there and telling me it was delicious?
Him drinking his pistachio iced latte and telling me it was the BEST LATTE HE EVER HAD?! 🥹💚☕️

And then… HE TIPPED ME. 🙌🏾

Sir, THANK YOU! 😂👏🏾

But the moment that almost took me OUT?

He said, “Expect more orders from my office.”

I almost fell on the floor!!! 😭😭😭

Because THIS is why I do what I do.

Somewhere between making sandwiches and pouring lattes, we started talking. I learned what he does, he learned what I do, and now he’s bringing some of his business cards into the cafe so our customers can connect with him if they need his services.

THAT’S COMMUNITY. ❤️
