An Update from lettuce 💚
As many of you have seen, it appears that the source of the recent Cyclospora outbreak has been identified. We want to take this opportunity to reassure our customers that lettuce has never used and will never use pre-shredded lettuce or pre-packaged salad kits.
From the day we opened our doors in 2017, we’ve built our business around one simple philosophy: fresh is better. Every head of lettuce is hand chopped, thoroughly washed, and prepared fresh in house. It’s one of the things that has always set us apart from fast food, and it’s a standard we refuse to compromise.
When we founded lettuce nearly 9 years ago, we never imagined that our biggest strength, fresh produce would one day become something that could negatively impact our business through circumstances completely beyond our control. While this has certainly been a challenging time, our commitment has never changed.
Safety, quality, and freshness have always been and will always be our top priorities. We continue to follow strict food safety practices every single day, not just during times like these.
To everyone who has continued to support us over the past nine years, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your trust, encouragement, and loyalty mean more than you’ll ever know. We hope this situation passes quickly, and we look forward to continuing to serve our community for many years to come.
