I think this is sort of an honor. According to my pizzeria suppliers, Mary and I have been actively making pizzas longer than anyone else in at least Monroe County. Not just in business but making the dough and everything else. It all started in 1969 when I worked at Joe's Pizza House on Thurston and Brooks. One of the originals. Joe was taught how to make one of the best pizzas by his friend who owned Tom and Nancy's. We still make it the same way. My mission now is to keep the business open just to prove to our governor that she can't take us all down. Several established pizzerias have closed just in the last few months. Rochester still holds the title for the pizza capital in the United States. We need to help keep the few privately owned pizzerias left to retain that title. We didn't get it because of the garbage franchises sell.
