Wow! Quite the lightening show this morning! Out in the boondocks we had a bit of hail for a few minutes also.
We have one more graduation party this weekend, this one is for Ryan and Renee's boys. Grandkids arrive so fast, and then in the blink of an eye they are headed off to college and lives of their own. All the turmoil of raising kids and working and parenting. The next thing you know you are in your 60's, wondering how time flew by. Some of the "big problems" when kids are young were really small and you don't realize it till you look back. Are there things we could gave done differently? You bet there are. You just don't know, until you know. Usually when you are in your 60's. Enjoy your kids, and know that grandkids are a mom's best revenge, hahaha.

Good morning on this sunny day! There is a fair chance of rain later but right now it is clear & HUMID!
Today is National Doughnut Day. (Who knew?) If you come in for breakfast today, please enjoy a free donut from the pastry case. Chocolate, sugar or plain, until they run out.
We are also frying up some chicken tonight for 2nd supper.

Good afternoon. A sad message to all my Friday night fans. I just dropped the entire container of cole slaw on the floor. Your salad choices are limited to cottage cheese or lettuce salad. Sorry about that.

Good morning! Good Neighbor Days prep us nearly done. The foot long buns arrived in time. And life is good. Remember that tomorrow we have food indoors and outside. Also on Sunday we will be closed to recover becsuse I'm not getting any younger. Enjoy the weekend

So... Good Neighbor Days. It sneaked up a bit on me. Yes we will be open during the car show with our usual breakfast buffet inside and street food outside. Outside may look a bit different. Did I say GND sneaked up on me? The $$ of individual bags of doritos has gone nuts. Throw on shipping fees, and sales tax and "because we can" fees and this creates an economic disaster. SO, keeping that in mind, my beloved Walking Tacos will be served in a disposable portion boat. Same portion, different container. Do I realize that this turns them into Nachos? Yes. But they are still delicious. And the container provides a bit more insulation from the hot taco meat.
Also, if my foot long buns do not arrive in time, a foot long hot dog special will be held later this summer. Thinking on the run, that's what we do.
Also, don't get me going on the new stopsigns at the end of Division & Graham. All I can say is "Finally!" That is the most dangerous corner in town. I almost got in an accident last week from someone flying over the hill, and when Troy's mom and dad lived on the corner, Donna told me about several times cars would end up in their yard in the winter. I understand the need to get where you are going, and be the first to arrive, but you have to actually get there ALIVE.

Good morning! Finally a few minutes! We will be closed this evening and then for the rest of the holiday weekend. Troy and I will be gathering supplies for Good Neighbor Days for the food outside and buffet inside.
In addition, we have 3 grandkids GRADUATING this year!!! HOW DID THIS HAPPEN SO FAST??? Now we have 5 that have grown up under our noses. Some would say that now the real learning begins. This is a life long education journey. I learn new things every day, some of it is helpful, some is irritating. Mostly, time flies so fast and that was something I was not taught in school. Watching them grow up and seeing how they think and navigate life has been hilarious and interesting. How they figure out solutions to problems, what others think of them (yes customers speak about ALL OF THEM, not just Lily.) My kids raised good kids. ALL OF THEM.

It's a little toasty out there this afternoon! Hydrate hydrate hydrate!!
Tonight for dinner I have added homemade potato salad AND broccoli with bacon salad to the side choices. Stacy made 2 fresh strawberry pies for dessert. Man, we're rolling in high cotton tonight! (That means life us great.)

Hey there Cafe family and Happy Mother’s Day! A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped in and had breakfast today. Holy moly it was busy! I was not prepared for the chaos, or for running out of EVERYTHING. I asked Cindy to unplug the sign and to please not bring back another ticket somewhere between 11:15- 11:30am. To the last table who waited over an hour for their food and never batted an eye, you’re amazing. Thank you all for blessing us with such a problem ❤️ Enjoy what’s left of the weekend - see you Tuesday.
