Well tonight I come to everyone with a heavy heart. Sarahs Place will be closing the end of this week. We thank everyone who has come in and spend time with us. But unfortunately the economy is not there.
We will still be catering and I look forward continuing to cook for Roanoke.
So if you're looking for an affordable Caterer who likes to put the wow in the event please keep us in mind. 540 484 3934. I'll let everyone know soon about a new page and website
We will not be in tomorrow as we are also moving to a different home. But will be back in on Wednesday. Please stop in for a final meal with us.

I just dropped off food at Shirley Fletchers for her Belmont Party. Now this is the way you stage a patio for a party. And being it's the running of the carnations she has corsages for all the ladies and her house is decorated full of carnations. Shirley, I know your party is going to be fabulous

SOUTHERN BUTTERMILK PIE:

1/2c buttermilk
1 3/4c sugar
2 large eggs
3tbsp flour
pinch of salt
1 stick butter melted
1tsp vanilla
1 tsp nutmeg

Preheat oven to 400°.
Mix everything together and pour into an unbaked 9" pieshell.
Sprinkle the top lightly with nutmeg. Bake 15min.
Reduce oven to 350° and bake 45min. Cool to allow filling to set.

Smothered chicken casserole

Ingredients

1tablespoon oil
4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper6oz uncooked angel hair pasta
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of chicken soup
1 1/4 cups half-and-half
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
2 cups Green Giant™ Steamers™ frozen broccoli florets, cut into smaller pieces
3 slices precooked bacon, crumbled

Directions

1 Heat oven to 350°F.
Spray 2 1/2-quart casserole with cooking spray.
In 10-inch skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat.
Add chicken thighs; sprinkle with garlic salt and pepper.
Cook chicken 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and juice of chicken is clear when thickest part is cut (at least 165°F).
2 Cook pasta as directed on package; drain. In large bowl, mix soup, half-and-half and paprika; reserve 3/4 cup sauce.
Stir in cooked pasta and frozen broccoli.3 Place pasta mixture in casserole; top with chicken thighs.
Spoon reserved sauce over chicken thighs.
Top with bacon.
Cover and bake 20 minutes; uncover and bake 10 to 15 minutes or until sauce bubbles.
