The Ark

🎉 Local businessman Kyle Ostermeyer has expanded the historic Ark restaurant by opening a second location in downtown Springville. Ostermeyer, who purchased the original Riverside restaurant in 2022 after a career in the food industry, said he was drawn to Springville’s charm, describing it as having a “Hallmark movie feel” with a “small-town, Norman Rockwell-ish” atmosphere that reflects The Ark’s roots.

🥘 The new restaurant, located in the former Springville Café building, opened in April 2024 after extensive renovations. Ostermeyer says the location is attracting many first-time customers who had never visited the original restaurant in Riverside.

📍Founded in 1930, The Ark is known for its fried catfish and shrimp and has had only four owners in its 94-year history. Ostermeyer says his goal is to preserve the restaurant’s traditions while introducing the longtime Alabama favorite to a new community.

⏰ Open

Happy Mother's Day!

Yall, I beg of you, if you go out to eat today, treat your restaurant servers and staff with love, kindness, grace, patience, and great tips today.🥰 And while we're at it, let's just NOT post complaints on social media. I know, I know, I'm asking A LOT! 🙃

Please consider that these people are spending time away from their own families to serve yours. Many of them are mothers trying to make ends meet for their children. Let that sink in before you choose to be anything but kind.🫶❤️
