After spending all of June in Greece, I just returned from another two-week trip. I had a wonderful time, but I’m happy to be home and back at George’s!

Now I have an important decision to make…

Good Afternoon, Family and Friends!

The Cali Burger started as the way I liked to make my own burger—bacon, avocado and cheese with all the fixings.

Now my daughter has started asking me to make her burger just like mine. Apparently, good taste runs in the family! 😂🍔

That got me wondering: Has your George’s order been passed down to the next generation?

What do you order—and do your kids or grandkids now want the same thing?

Same counter. Same favorites. New generation.

Some things never change… including Riverside drivers. 😂

Take a close look at this old photo of Teen’s Drive-In, before this location became George’s.

See the telephone booth on the left? Now look at the pole next to it. That pole was already bent back in the 1950s or ’60s—and it is still standing there bent today.

Apparently drivers weren’t any better back then, even with a lot less traffic on the road!

I always get a laugh out of showing customers this photo and then pointing out that the same pole is still here. The restaurant names, cars and telephone booth may be gone, but that bent pole has survived it all.

Does anyone remember the telephone booth—or know how the pole originally got bent?

Good evening Family and Friends,

I was talking with a customer the other day about how we really haven’t changed much at George’s since my father was running the place.

After thinking about it, I remembered there were a couple things from way back that my dad had taken off the menu — deep fried cauliflower and capicola.

Other than that, I honestly can’t think of much else that ever disappeared. We’ve tried hard to keep George’s the way people remember it. Heck, we even kept the Pochito on the menu.

So I’m asking our longtime George’s family…

Is there anything you remember from the old menu that I may have forgotten?

I’m pretty sure almost everything is still here, but I’d love to hear what you remember.

Kalo Mhna!

Wishing everyone a beautiful July filled with health, happiness, and prosperity.

I know June was a little quiet on updates, but I was blessed to take my family and my mom to Greece, hoping she could enjoy the village one more time. As many of you know, my mom has Alzheimer’s, and it has progressed greatly over the last few months. The trip had its ups and downs, but we also had some very special moments together, and I’m grateful we were able to capture them.

Also, since I was away, the 4th of July shirts were not passed out yet. Please pick up your shirts at the window. They are $15 each. For anyone who didn’t pre-order, I have about 5 of each size, S–2X, available while they last.

We will be closed on the 4th of July, as we are every year. Please be safe, enjoy the holiday, and have a great time celebrating with family and friends.

Happy Father's Day! 💙

Today we celebrate all the dads, grandpas, stepdads, and father figures who make every day a little better with their love, guidance, and hard work.

My dad is always on my mind, but especially on Father's Day, his birthday, and April 19th. I hope we've made him proud of everything he worked so hard to create. Thank you for being the role model I needed and for surrounding me with other role models who helped shape the person I am today.

One of my greatest goals is to do the same for my daughters—to lead by example, provide opportunities, and create a legacy of family, hard work, and community that they can be proud of.

To all the fathers in our community, thank you for everything you do. We appreciate the sacrifices, lessons, and love you give every day.

Bring Dad in for a great meal and let us help make his day special.

It was great to catch up with Richard, owner of The Sub Station. Between the two of us, there’s over 100 years of local business experience standing in this photo — Richard started in 1972, and George’s Drive-In has been serving our community since 1974.

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to be there for Richard’s final day on June 20, but I was honored to spend some time with him and hear some of his stories. Building and maintaining a successful business for over 50 years is no small accomplishment.

Wishing Richard all the best in retirement and whatever adventures come next. Thank you for your years of dedication to the community—you’ve certainly earned it!
