Friendly reminder that Golf will close at 4pm tonight! All other Heise departments (pools, snack bar, camping, pizza) are open for their regular hours. Live music is still scheduled at the Parlor tonight, but we are keeping an eye on the weather! Come have a fun Heise day with us, rain or shine!

We want to thank each and every member of our incredible community for the love and support that has been expressed over the past week in so many ways.

Losing Robi to the fire was a heart-breaking blow to everyone who knew and loved him. We are beyond grateful that so many people dedicated their time and energy to searching for him, and ultimately finding him. We are grateful for every suggestion that came through, and every heartfelt message of love for him. We will post more at a later time regarding memorial services for him.

Meanwhile we wanted to respect the many who mourn the recent passing of Susan (Quinn) Sermon, just two short weeks after the loss of her husband Harold. Her services were held today. Sue and Harold were a constant for our families and our Heise community, and they will be missed. May they all rest in peace.

We realize that Heise updates have been minimal this past week, as we have focused on the search efforts for Robert. We thank all of you for the patience and understanding.

The bridge will be open tomorrow (Sun, Aug 9th) and we welcome back our summer community and customers.

We met with the leaders that are fighting the fire. They have let us know that the area will not be open for visitation until early next week. We are grateful for them and the efforts to keep Heise and the surrounding area safe.

Heise will resume regular business hours on Tuesday August 11th. Please watch our page and website for any updated information.

Perspective. This was taken yesterday (Sun, Aug 2nd). The mountain has been scorched, but it will recover in due time. We could not be more grateful that Heise and neighboring businesses/homes were spared. Meanwhile, we remain closed (along with the road) until further notice. We will be receiving an update from the Fire Chief today concerning the timeframe. We will keep you posted! Thank you all for the prayers and positive thoughts; keep it up for the responders who are still fighting the fires and monitoring our beloved valley!

We know everyone is waiting for updates, and we are doing our best to stay informed, while letting the responders do their jobs. They are still keeping the road closed at the Heise bridge. The fire has still NOT crossed the road anywhere to our knowledge. Our understanding is that the fire has traveled East (and North) toward Kelly Canyon, and most noticeably, West toward Cress Creek/Madison County.
We can report that all homes on the hillside and all lower Heise properties (campgrounds) were protected and have not sustained damage. We are told it will be another day at least, before the area is opened up to traffic in general. Heise remains closed for the time being.
Thank you for your patience, we know a lot of people are anxious about getting to their rvs and retrieving properties, but please know that as of now, Heise is at a standstill.
