Due to the heavy rainfall our area has received, Maka Mia will be closed today.

Several of our employees have been affected by the flash flooding and are unable to safely make it to work. The safety of our employees and our community comes first, and we feel this is the best decision for today.

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: REBECA WEEKLEY! 🌟

We’re continuing our employee spotlight series, and this week, we’re shining the spotlight on one of our longtime team members, Rebeca Weekley! ❤️🍕

Rebeca has been part of the Maka Mia family for 4 years, and we’re so lucky to have her! She’s always on the go, always ready to chat with our customers, and apparently, she’s basically a real-life superhero! 😂

🥨 Favorite Maka Mia menu item: Definitely the pretzels they are the best thing on the menu if you ask me!

🍕 Favorite pizza topping: For sure pepperoni you can never go wrong with it.

❤️ Favorite part about working at Maka Mia: The environment and the people I work with. I’ve worked here for 4 years and it’s been the absolute best. My coworkers and my bosses are the best!

🚒 One fun fact about you: I’m a volunteer firefighter at the Ravenswood fire department.

😂 Favorite hobby: I’d have to say working 😂. If I’m not at Maka Mia working im working at my full time job as a bridge safety instructor for the special operations unit! So I hang off the bridges by ropes.

✈️ Dream vacation: I’d love to go to Scotland or Ireland for sure it’s so beautiful over there.

⚡ If you could have any superpower, what would it be? Definitely super speed. Any time you see me here I’m running around like crazy so I might as well be super fast about it.😂

🍍 Pineapple on pizza: Yes, sweet and savory is the next best thing!

💬 What is one thing you’d like our customers to know about you? I’ve always been a big people person so I always love to stop and talk to you guys. It’s always the highlight of working here. I meet all kinds of wonderful people and I just love it!!

🌟 EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT: KEELIA BAKER! 🌟

Keelia Baker is up next in our Employee Spotlight series! 🎉 She’s one of our amazing servers, and if you’ve had the pleasure of having Keelia take care of you, you already know she brings plenty of personality, laughs, and good vibes to Maka Mia! 😂❤️

We asked Keelia a few questions so you can get to know her a little better. Here’s what she had to say:

🍕 Favorite Maka Mia menu item:
The BLT calzone — with mayo specifically. And NO, before anyone asks, it’s not warm mayo 😂 It goes in AFTER. Trust me. Try it!

🌶️ Favorite pizza topping:
Jalapeños. I’ll put them on literally anything. 😂 And no, I will not be taking questions at this time.

❤️ Favorite part about working at Maka Mia:
Definitely the people. I love my coworkers, I love getting to know our customers, and I love that we can laugh, pick on each other, make some money, and somehow still call it a job. 😂 Honestly, it’s hard to complain when you’re getting paid to have a good time.

😂 One fun fact about me:
I’m a little bit of everything 😂 I’m fun, I’m funny, I’m chill, I’m wild… I’m either at 100 or I’m at 0. There is absolutely no in-between. 1 thing I am not… is shy 😝

🌸 Favorite hobby:
Does being a mom count as a hobby? 😂 Between trying to work out 😅, moming teenagers AND a 3-year-old, keeping up with sports, growing flowers, and whatever random thing I decide I’m into that week… I stay pretty busy!

📺 Favorite movie/TV show:
TV show is easy — TRUE CRIME. Put me in front of a good mystery or documentary and I’m locked in. 😂 For movies, I love a good comedy, and Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is a staple in my house!

🏖️ Dream vacation:
Somewhere WARM with a beach, amazing food, good drinks, and absolutely nowhere I have to be. 😂 I don’t want any plans, I don’t want to set an alarm. I just want to exist somewhere pretty.

✨ If I could have any superpower:
Teleportation, 100%. 😂 I’m always late, so imagine being able to say “I’m on my way!” while literally still sitting at home and then BOOM— I’m there.

🍍 Pineapple on pizza:
YES. Absolutely. Live a little! 😂

💬 What I’d like our customers to know about me:
I genuinely love taking care of people. I’ve always loved being around people, being in the public eye, and making those little relationships with customers. I might joke around, talk a lot, and probably end up knowing way more about your life than I probably need to 😂
