I honestly don't even know where to start. I have been in restaurant business since I was 15. Last April, an opportunity was placed in front of me and I grabbed it with both hands. I just want to say I'm appreciative of the previous owners and all that they did to help me get my journey started. I truly am thankful for that!
I've always been what we call FOH (front of house) which means like the employees who are visible to the customers. I've never been on the paperwork side of things and let me just say yikes! Two totally different worlds. Just the tax stuff alone makes your eyes start twitching. I have second guessed myself more than you guys can ever imagine...but I kept faith.
They say at least the first 3 years of being a restaurant owner is the worst, and most people don't make any money until then which so far has proven to be true. I have put in way more money than I would like to admit, and at times felt like I was drowning and taking my crew down with me...but I kept faith.
I always seem to focus on the negative things instead of realizing all of the positive things and accomplishments we have made since we have been open. We have did multiple events and fundraisers, partnered with Southern Virginia Hell Raisers Car Club for our cruise ins, been on TV 2 times, won multiple awards, had kids nominate us for the star tribune, made it on America's Best Restaurants, partnered with God's Storehouse for the Eat Out To Help Out event, sponsored many people, teams, and churches. We will be on 103.3 WAKG every morning. We worked with the NC Pumpkin patch (we will also do that this year as well). We partnered with Union Church as well as Me's burgers & brews. We hold concealed carry classes once a month, work with VCDL quarterly, had a video made with Visit SoSi and an article done by LifeStyle Homes as well as This is Raleigh. and the list goes on and on..
I said all that to say this, tomorrow, June 25th, is our one year anniversary. We made it! We have came so far in a short amount of time and I just feel blessed. God has our stories already planned out. I just need to let him lead. "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." - Matthew 6:34
I want to thank all of my employees. Without you guys none of this could have happened. Ya'll are more like family and I hope each of you know how much I truly care about ya'll!! π I want to thank Josh "Redd" (co-owner) who came in a little later, but who has truly been a blessing and a wonderful friend! π― Shoutout to my parents for helping with my children. That's a job in itself. β€οΈ A HUGE praise to the man upstairs for always being there and making all of this possible. God, I thank you for everything! π
A big, big thank you to all of the customers who have came to eat with us, ordered togo or doordash, attended our events or fundraisers, supported us, voted for us, and most importantly, prayed for us. You guys are truly awesome and is what's keeping us open. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. π©΅π©·π
We hope to see everyone tomorrow on our one year anniversary!! We will be getting loyalty cards to pass out for anyone who wants one. It's a way of saying thank you for pushing this year out with us!
