To Our Beloved Community,

Since announcing our decision to close, we have been overwhelmed by the love, support, and heartfelt messages we have received. Hearing how a warm cup of tea, a friendly conversation, or simply a welcoming place to gather has touched your lives has meant more to us than words can express.

Over the past decade, we have been grateful to share in your milestones, friendships, and everyday moments. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this wonderful community.

While this chapter is coming to a close for us, we are hopeful for the future. We are excited to share that we are working with Theresa Cheung, a fellow Somerville school mom, longtime supporter of our shop, and owner of CiCi Cakery, who is exploring the opportunity to continue the Village Tea Shop.

Theresa understands what makes this space special and is committed to preserving its heart, keeping customer favorites while thoughtfully building on that foundation for the future. We are grateful that someone who values this community is exploring the opportunity to carry it forward, and we hope you will welcome and support her as warmly as you have supported us.

Our final day of business will be June 30, 2026. If you have any gift cards, please redeem it before then. We look forward to seeing you one last time before we say goodbye.

ANNOUNCEMENT 📣 📣

Dear Friends, Customers, and Community,

After 12 wonderful years, we have made the difficult decision to close our tea shop at the end of this month as our lease comes to an end.

This is not the ending we imagined, but what an incredible journey it has been. From the first cup of tea we served to the many friendships we’ve made along the way, every moment was made special because of you. What began as a small tea shop became a place filled with laughter, conversations, celebrations, and memories that we will cherish forever.

We feel deeply indebted to this community for the love, loyalty, and unwavering support you have shown us throughout the years. Your kindness and encouragement allowed us to do what we love every day, and words cannot fully express how grateful we are.

We are proud of what we have built together and incredibly thankful for every customer who walked through our doors, every staff member who helped make this shop special, and every friend who supported us along the way. You made this business more than just a tea shop—you made it a home.

While this decision was not made lightly, we leave with full hearts and tremendous gratitude. Rather than focusing on an ending, we choose to celebrate the wonderful memories we’ve shared and the relationships we’ve built over the past 12 years.

Before we close our doors, we invite you to stop by one last time to enjoy your favorite drink, redeem any remaining gift cards, and share a goodbye with us. We would love the opportunity to thank you in person and celebrate the memories we’ve made together.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your lives, your routines, your celebrations, and your everyday moments. We will carry these memories—and your kindness—with us always.
