New playground, comin’ to our wonderful neighborhood!
Big feel-good community update on the playground fundraiser!!!
We are so thrilled to let everyone know that the community has collectively donated over $11,000.00 towards new playground equipment!!! Hundreds of people have contributed since September and that effort has added up to something even bigger!
The owners of Liberty Public House and Riverbend Roastery saw this grass-roots effort to make a meaningful improvement to our neighborhood playground and have come forward with an offer to match EVERY SINGLE DONATION!!!
This means that we have met our biggest goal and will be getting some amazing new equipment to add to the Chimborazo playground!
This won’t surprise some people who know that the folks at Liberty and Riverbend have been quietly giving back to the community in many ways.
This is what we want in a neighborhood and in our local businesses!!
What's next:
- We will have updates coming soon on the next steps and a timeline. *This will still take time but it will be worth it!*
- Please like/follow the Friends of Chimborazo page. This is only one of what we hope will be many more projects! We will continue to need help and volunteers for install, mulch, landscaping, cleanup days etc… everyone has different ways they can contribute and we need you!!
- If there is something that you care about that can benefit the community, big or small, bring it to the table. You’ll be amazed by what can happen!
- If you love landscaping, gardening, or would like to donate plants… spring is coming and we need more people who want to lend a green thumb.
- Support our local businesses because they support you!

The Smoky Mug offers a Turkey & Brie sandwich with Granny Smith apples and our Feast of bourbon cranberry jam and offers our Strawberry Zeal Forever and Feast of Bourbon as spreads on their bagels!

That's what I love MOST about my job.
I’ve been in the commercial real estate and brokerage world for over 15 years. I get to help local businesses and organizations find a place to call home right here in Richmond.
In fact, here are my TOP 5 Favorite Projects:
#1) Flooring RVA.
We helped find them a new showroom with more space AND we were able to help find a tenant to replace their previous lease so they could make a clean break.
#2) The Summit (Scott’s Addition area).
Such a great, action packed area of town where we were able to help long time friends sell two different properties at the same time.
#3) Nomad Deli & Catering Company.
Anthony and his family are proof that the American Dream is alive. They started this family owned business as tenants, but eventually bought their building and have continued a successful (and delicious) restaurant!
#4) LUX Church
This is a great community minded organization that brought life back into a building that was over 130 years old and an area landmark.
#5) Liberty Public House
When Alexa told us about her dream concept of a restaurant inside a renovated, historical building, we knew we had just the right property for her! In fact, she moved all the way back to Richmond from the west coast to fulfill her dream of being a restaurant owner.
