Congratulations to our Member Monday Spotlight Jamal Hasan! He is the Senior Small Business Development Officer at Wells Fargo. Check out our interview with Jamal below!

Q: How did you get started in your business?

I have been in banking for over 15 years. I started right at the beginning of the Great Recession when I was working as a realtor in the Richmond market in 2006. I transitioned to banking at that time and have been in the business ever since. I joined Wells Fargo in December of 2021.


Q: What products and or services do you offer?

I provide business owners with Access to Capital via business loans and lines of credit. I also offer traditional business banking products ranging from checking and savings accounts to treasury services and fraud prevention services.



Q: What is your position in this business? (i.e. Founder, Owner, Associate)

I am the Richmond Market’s Senior Small Business Development Officer.



Q: What's one thing you’ve learned while working in your field?

I have been able to see how powerful traditional financing can be in the development and sustainment of local and small businesses. I have also been able to see the effects that a lack of access and a lack of knowledge can have on a small business.

Q: How has the MBL helped you?

The MBL has always been a great partner in connecting me to both people and opportunities to help me be successful. They have been my favorite organization to work with and I would HIGHLY recommend a membership to anyone. I have been able to both learn from and eventually contribute to, programming that the MBL provides. They are dedicated and personally invested in your success, support like this is hard to find.
