REFUGE - The Finale. 😭😭 There aren't enough words in the dictionary to describe the immense gratitude we feel towards this experience and the people involved. Our last meet up wasn't the end, but more so the beginning of the bright future that lies ahead.

Shoutout to this Black Women led community cohort + & its participants !! 💜💜
🌿 For our final meal recap, loved ones of our community and participants of the cohort came together, bringing dishes of their choice, for our final gathering. In unison and fellowship, not to say goodbye but to say hello to a new chapter & season within our lives.
Food Stops Violence was able to supply some southern hospitality with a vegan spinach dip, mixed green salad, collard greens, and baked sweet potatoes with all ingredients locally sourced from our community sponsor !.

Paying respects by reading an Obituary of a Great Grandfather who transitioned on March 5th, 1945 at his residence which was on N. 5th Street - Downtown Richmond by the Richmond Coliseum.
Where I95 + I64 meet leading to 5th Street. Where oceans of Brown people lived and thrived before the Richmond - Petersburg Turnpike.
He was a prominent figure in the establishment of Agriculture and a leading usda agent in the State of Virginia. Appointed by the U.S. President at the time to lead and teach Virginian's how to farm and cultivate the land they lived on.
Born in Dendron - Surry, Virginia - Establishing roots in Hampton to Petersburg and resting in Richmond.
Agriculture & giving back to the earth reside in our DNA.
